Hey - Need all info I can get to get started in 3D electric. There are too many choices on this stuff. I would like to start with a 32 to 40 inch edge or extra or yak and set it up on my 9 cap. Don't know anything about all the esc to prop and motor sizing. I have glo and gas but I want something to play with in the yard. I have not been able to find a good site for info for beginners.
Thanks
Ruff

I would recomend The 3D Foamy Mini Sukhoi for a first foamy because it is extremely crash resistant. As far as setup you can get the electronics at

www.2dogrc.com

I would recomend the "red motor, speed 300 outrunner" and the speed control
They have the 9 gram servos as well. (you will need 4 of them)

for batteries I would recomend www.falconbatteries.com 3s1p 380's

Good luck and best of luck,

John

Thanks John
I will check this out. It is really confusing with so many options. On gas all you need is the plane size and weight and its easy from there. I thought Electric would be same but the first thing I get is what brush, brushless, outrunner and all the amperages. WOW
I want to be sure to get 3D capabable plane that is big enough for this old man not to loose. I have a little problem keeping up with some of my smaller glos.
Thanks
Roy

Hey, The setup I recomendid will work very well, also another setup option is

3D Foamy Mini Sukhoi

hacker A/20 34M with castle creations 10 amp speed controll
or axi 2208/34 with castle creations 10 amp sped controll

both with falcon 3s1p 380's www.falconbatteries.com

there are a few servo options, 9 gram servos from www.2dogrc.com

GWS pico's from www.e-flightline.com

or from 3D Foamy the HS-55's work terific.

Good luck with whatever you Choose.
