You need a bigger road. Try the M1 at the hemel turn off at least 4 lanes or maybe luton airport may be obliging. Keep up the good work

Here ya go guys.

I couldn't get onto the disused airfield, there was a rally meeting []

On the last run, the tank leaked fuel onto the chassis so I put the car into a large bin bag to get it home in my car.
I left it overnight, not even thinking that the spillage would go onto the tires but as you'll see on the video, a wet surface and jet fuel on rubber doesn't mix and I had very little control over it!

I fixed the tank but when I refuelled it, it leaked again and spilled more fuel (you'll see the fuel trail as it takes off).

New tank is now fitted, new tires fitted, more tweaking done for more power (it was only going to 75% thrust) and the airfield is free so next weekend will be the big one!

Enjoy

think you'd be better off pointing that thing streight up in the air
impressive stuff, but i cant ever see it cornering like a wheel driven car because the jet surely wants to push streight all the time?? assumed you'd built it as a streight line record breaker anyway...

hey,

i am kevin and live in holland

i am a member of 1 of the best forum from holland ( www.rc-junkies.com ) and some1 posted a movie of you ( great ) car and today i had nothing to do, so i thought, lets look for that "jet marder" and found this site.

i MUST say its a ****ing nice car you have and i think all the people on RC-junkies think the same. So al the movies an pictures you place here, i place at RC-J. so you already have a famous car.

you also make nice movies and love to see m!

good luck with your "jet bull"

cya

edit::

i just seen movie 2, realy cool, but don'T you need a wing at the back of your car? its sliding all over the place

Awesome......all you need is some directional thrust!!!!hehehe...and some downforce maybe???seems the ass end doesnt wanna stick!!
Good job though!!!! Brings me great joy to watch!!![8D]

As I said, the problem was with fuel on the tyres and the wet road.
It only reached around 40mph but did it in just over a second.

There's only been test runs until now but this weekend, I'll put the front spoiler and rear wing on so I know it's gonna stay on the ground and not get airbourne.
The diagnostics show it only went to 110,000 RPM and full thrust is 135,000 RPM so I recon there's another 25% power at hand now.

If anyone wants some photos of the build, there's a few.

Looking fantastic! I can't wait to see it fly (hopefully not literally) with some stickey tires and a dry surface. Is it possible to oritent the jet a few degrees up inorder to create some extra down force? Not sure if that'd help or not, but intuitivley it makes sense.

Either way looking fantastic!

thats what i was thinking...i know some jets have direction thrust...so if you angles the thrust up a tad...might provide a "push" down a wee bit...and maybe keep the ass glued??? im prob wrong but just thinking outloud....dont mind me..you have done an exceptional job though

I did try to aim it slightly upward to give downforce but it simply wouldn't fit.
With the new 'super stickies' and front and rear spoilers, it's going nowhere but where it's supposed to (I hope)

If only I could post a video with something near true sound, you'd get some idea of how sweet it sounds.
The closest you'll get is put headphones on and turn the bass and volume up.
Next run, I'm wearing ear plugs!

Some of us have now or have had RCs and this is the king of them all
Its cool to see the thought and the process of this project..
Keep it up.

Impressive...maybe some weight added to the front will help it hold better....the idea way would have been the nozel pointing down. you can use a deflector to do that but at 100% thrust it may cause the rear end to become airborn....maybe also adding some overall length to the buggy....slapping maybe another 6-8" of frame in may assist in traction...the fuel on the tires hurt big time...maybe a grass field run it'll get traction on grass and shouldn't start a fire hehe...the turbines are difficult to capture the true sound...they are really amazing in person to hear them spooling up...

Keep us posted so far excellent job

I love it! Especially looking into the rear of the engine, the flames are wicked!

I am eagerly awaiting your next video, I really hope it stays in one piece.

Hi Guys,

A sad day has come

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the 'Marjet' is up for grabs.

If anyone is interested, I'll either sell it as a complete unit or split (Car with Zenoah engine will be 1 unit and turbine & all ancillaries another) if I get offers.
The car can be put back to a totally standard Marder as I didn't modify anything apart from drilling 4 small holes in the roll cage. I designed everything with the sole intention of being able to return it to standard if I needed.
The Zenoah engine (which will be included if someone buys the whole unit or just the car) has only been run for around 15 mins at run-in revs so is mint. The rest of the car is A1 too and hasn’t seen any off-road action at all.

There’s loads of spare plastic parts and 12 slicks (including wheels) along with the standard knobbly wheels. It also has hydraulic disks on the rear.

Everything is included except TX & RX gear, Battery (for RX) and 1 x 6 cell battery (for the ECU) – I’ll even supply the air cylinder.
All you’ll need is 4ch (minimum) TX & RX and 2 batteries but I do recommend a TX unit with an auxiliary switch

If anyone wants to make me an offer or has any questions, please PM me. I won’t be offended by any offers.

I’ll ship worldwide, I can take Paypal etc. etc.

I know this isn’t really the place to sell things but I thought I’d give you all the chance to own this beast before it goes on Ebay.

Thanks for all your support and kind comments, I just wish I could keep it now it's finished.

Tony

If anyone is genuinely interested in buying the car, I will give my reasons if I'm asked but in PM, not here - Sorry.

I don't have the time, money, or space for that beast, but I do hope you find it a good home. Very sorry to hear you are retiring it, but most of all I hope things are well with you and yours.
