Status: offline 		I was looking at the carb and muffler on the Jett engineering web page for the 2300 and I am interested in one. If anyone has tried one of these products please post your results. Did you get metter midrange and transition? Did you get more rpms? Is this engine worth spending the extra money on to get it to run properly?

There are a handful of folks out there flying the "red" carb on their ST2300 and ST3000 engines. You may want to post this in the glow forum.

There is not a huge rpm boost from the muffler. The engine is not agressively timed. However there is a noted boost in torque - usually you can go up one pitch size and keep the same rpm, and with the right prop the engine will unload nicely in the air. Does make it run great though Super smooth.

Worth considering the cost as you noted. The ST2300 is about $120. Carb and muffler are going to run $160 or so for the pair.

The newer ST2300 carbs have been pretty good.
