Hi guys. I am new to the site and new to the Esky Lama. Just received it and tried to fly it using the battery off the box without charging it first, but the rotor is not spinning. Forgive my ignorance with the proper technology. Also, on the remote control only the right controls have some sort of effect on the blades when I move them around. The left controls don't have any effect on the actual helicopter. I have decided to fully charge the battery just in case, but are there any reasons why I am having these issues when I've read threads that state that people have been able to fly the copter right off the box.

Any input is greatly appreciated, guys.

Thanks

Ok guys. The batter is fully charged. I've installed the battery to the copter and the red light flashes a few times, but then it goes steady red. IT doesn't turn to green, and so I am back with the blades not spinning. Is there a button, although I haven't seen it anywhere, that is supposed to be turned on, or is my Lama simply not working? Again, the left controls in the transmitter are doing absolutely nothing once I move them around. ???

Thanks, guys

Have you tried turning everything off, setting your transmitter throttle all the way down and setting it's trim all the way down, then turning it on and then plugging in the helicpoter's battery ?

ok it worked, and I was able to hover quite a bit. not bad at all to learn. so far I am pretty satisfied. could you tell me what extra parts you recommend I get, and where to get them from? i am planning on breaking a few of them as I learn and I don't want those parts to keep me from continuing to fly. also, the battery lasted about 15 minutes. what can I do to get more flying time, aside from buying a few more batteries?

thanks again for your help, gtx slotcar

orlando, i agreed with gtxslotcar. turn everything off first( unplug the heli battery, then switch off the tx.)

the left stick on mode two radio is "rudder" . without the throttle up, rudder stick won't respond to control input.

It's no secret that I don't like the way the battery tray snaps in. I'm always afraid I'm going to snap the mounting stirrups. So, I finally changed it. A little CA, carbon fiber rods and rubber bands is all it took. I cut the tabs off the tray, so I can mount the battery with or without it.

I just leave the battery in for charging, it hasn't swelled any, so, I haven't had a problem yet, but, if I had a spare battery I would do the same thing (or order them from you...)

GTX, I have put trim pots and everything to full right for the tail spin problem, and now I only get slow clockwise rotation, insane counterclockwise. what can I do, it's as if I need a bigger pinnion on my bottom rotor!
