Okay. He asked me to look at one of his videos so I went for another, which came in fine.
Before I go into this I'd like to state this about racing videos. The entire thing is opinionated when it comes to a racing video. All of it is personal style. In a bashing video, editing skill, bashing quality, and music are more important than in a racing video. Bashing videos also entertain a wider veriety of viewers, but take longer to shoot, and are more expensive.
My personal style, which plainly shows in BSC Videos:
I like things to be more cut down and edited up. My addiction to the hobby originates in bashing, so I like the fast pace stuff. So, in a BSC video, I tend to have shorter highlight clips of the action, not the race. Its a pretty contriversial style. To me, it looks more professional, but alot of people don't care about that, and just want to see the race. Others won't even download the video because theyre hardcore bashers. I would shoot myself trying to make a video like the one I saw. It just doesn't fit my taste.
The video I saw: Note that none of this is bashing the video, its all opinionated. Everyone likes different things.
The music didn't really do it for me. I guess the video isn't matched to the beat of the music, so it doesn't matter, but Im more of a hard rock/metal guy. This is totally different for every person...
That camera resembles the one TM uses. It interlaces big time. Probably another thing that now one will notice but me... 1000kbps is a little high IMO for the playrate. I run mine at like 750, but it seems like I get a better quality. That may be something Vegas 6 could help you with, like you were thinking, but a new camera may do it to. I don't know what to tell you there.
I did like the action though! That track was definitly cool, and the drivers were pretty darn good!
Please don't take anything in this post in the wrong way. Like I said, racing videos are kindof up in the air when it comes to getting a solid review on it. Truthfully, I bet more people would like that video more than a BSC racing video. I, of course, am a little biased to the video I spend hours working on, but I'd like the video to be cut up more than that.
That's my opinion. Anything said is there to just suggest changes to help you improve your editing. It may sound like Im picking at your video, but Im not trying to. Let me know when the other server gets back up, I'd like to check out the other one!
