There are no marks on the fuse for the landing gear. From a picture on line of the foam core you don't have a lot of room to play with. Also I have checked and double checked. the fuse looks like a pin cushion from poking it with an xacto knife. Without the plans it is impossible to tell how wide the hardwood motor mounts are. Can the mount area be opened up to 1 an 7/8 th inches. I want to put in the new OS 1.2 2 cycle.
Thanks,
RD
I would need to remove 1/8 from each side.

If you look at the instructions it gives you measurements to drill the landing gear holes. It has been my experience (2 ARF's) that the hardwood blocks are a bit closer to the front of the plane than the measurements say. I would guess at about 1/4". I took a very small bit and drilled a couple of holes untill I found solid material. The gear will cover the holes. I had to open up the engine mounts a bit on my first one for a YS 120 and it seemed ok. I hope this helps.

Thanks Don, you are right on the money. And yes the ARFs have enough engine wood to widen for the 120s.

Thanks for the info. My instructions said nothing of the placement of the holesother than using the guide holes, which are not there.

My YAK arf did not have holes either. I looked at the gallery of picts on the OMP site and drilled mine as the others looked. I also widened mine for a YS 120. Great plane. I haven`t flown it . But have seen one fly.

Step 7 of the ARF manual says this below and includes this diagram: It could be that you may have one of the very first CD manuals that did not include the diagram. The ARFs were supposed to include the laser cut holes for the gear but after we found out they were not predrilled, I added this picture.

7. Mark the location for the main gear mounting holes using the diagram below and drill them through for the 8-32 bolts. Either use a drill press or make sure you keep the drill square to the fuselage so that both sides are identical. Drill identical holes in the main gear provided and mount using 8-32 x 2" socket head bolts and nylock nuts. Use 8-32 x 1.25" socket head bolts, regular nuts, and nylock nuts as the wheel axles for 2.5” wheels.

I just got mine the other day and this diagram wasn't included. Guess I need to move mine.

Mine didn't have the diagram or predrilled holes either. I did the same a jaybo292, I looked at the picture gallery and guessed at it. Seems to be fine.

The diagram is a picture which you should click on the CD manual. Should be step 7 of the final assembly section. It's not a printed piece of paper in the box. If it's not on the CD then we've been burning the wrong version manual! Hope that is not true.

You might be burning the wrong version. Under table of contents I've got : Home,Main Assembly,Radio Gear and Balancing. Then Other photo's, video clips. Nowhere can I find any final assembly with any type of diagrams. When I click on the pictures, all I get are enlarged versions.
