Aluminium,
that is just one sweet set-up! I love it! makes we want to do the same with my KMP Hurricane that I still have lying around nib...
Well, the Corsair actually flew very well. A bit underpowered, may be and that could be another reason for engine failure: I was running it at full throttle almost all of the time...

For air exit I had used the cut-out that is meant for a two-stroke muffler as well as series of slots in the cowling. still wasn't engouh. Also while ducting the inflow nicely from three spaces between the cylinders of the dummy radial 90 degrees curve directly over the cylinder, I didn't duct the outflow. Hot air might have gotten caught up...

I am curious how it will go. Might I suggest you use a data logger with temperature sensors and all? I installed one of those last summer in my Kyosho Kelly. Great system! This way you get exact readings of speed, rpm, various temperatures using differen sensors, altitude and the change thereof etc. After the flight you can reconstruct exactly the course of the flight and the respective readings. Great stuff! Read about it here:

Looks Awesome. Have you flown her? What does she weigh? Is the fan effective in flight?

I've had only one very short flight that ended with broken gear rails because I had too much control throw. The engine has run quite cool on all the ground tests. I had delayed another maiden until I tested and get used to the DX7 in a sport plane. Then, I decided to postpone flight until after the AMA convention to be sure no more, ah, mishaps occurred .

The plane weighs 10 lb 10 oz dry and took a 2 oz spinner weight to balance.
