This site will be for the owners of TAURUS, powered aircraft, to post a picture of themselves with their airplanes. We also would like for you to give us a little rundown on how your plane is set up, which Taurus engine, weight, prop size, ect. Please get you pictures ready and start posting. I'll post my pictures the middle of next week, when I get back from Pigeon Forge, TN. Also tell us a little about yourself, and how long you've been involved in RC.

Heres a piicture of my KMP Yak. I purchased this ARF off ebay for 250.00. This plane is an example of the so called "REJECT" Yak. I assembled it entirely from the componnents that were included with the kit. No modifications, or corrections of any kind were nescessery. The only problem I found with the "ARF," was the fiberglass COWL.
The glass on it was too thin and flexible, so I reinforced it on the inside with glass cloth and eppoxy. The only problem I've had with it after about 25 flights is, the paint on the cowl flakes, and I'll have to re-paint it before long. Overall...........It's the best flying plane I've ever flown.

The plane looks good. How has your engine been performing on that plane now that it has some fuel through it?

The engine just runs great out of the box. But I know it will improve after three or four gallons of gas. The plane will hover at 1/2 throttle and is as smooth as a twin. Ya just gotta love the Taurus, engine.

I really like the color scheme better than most of the other Yak's also. It's a very nice change of pace for the colors used. Nothingg else at the field looks like it.

Hi Glen........Thanks for posting your pictures on the thread. What can I say that hasn't already been said many times over about your P- 51's. They are simply the most beautiful examples of the "P-51" mustang I have ever seen modeeled in my 45 years in this hobby. Bill O, said that my YAK would be the first picture posted on the Taurus Web Site, but I would encourage him to use your Mustangs. My Yak, is like all the other YAK's that are flooding the fields today. Can't wait for the next great plane to appear. ( Pitts S-12?)

How about give us a run down on your set up and the equipment you're using. The exaust looks like it was custom made?

Glenn showed me some of the parts he has finished for the Stuka when he stopped by. From what I saw this Stuka will be every bit as good as the 51's. He is a class builder. He even built his own fullscale home built.

Welcome to the "Brotherhood" You will soon find out why so many of us think that the Taurus line of engines are the best thing in their class. When you get your plane finished, send a picture to the Taurus, web site and have it posted so we can see it.

We have thought of putting pricing on the site. But that would not give us a chance to explain the important differences in why the Taurus is a geat engine. And there are important differences in guality and performance compared to other makes.
We would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Hi Bill,

As a possible future "Taurus owner", I totally hate the "call us for price" line. If you believe in your product, and I know you do, then post a fair price and let the customer make his choice. It almost gives the impression that a company is hiding something. Like it or not, we live in a "click & buy" world. No one wants to wait for a reply to an email.

Your engines look good! I believe that you could explain the differences on the website. Many of us want to see pictures! I'd like to see exactly what I'm getting. If it comes with a muffler I want to know which one (size, weight, etc) , how quiet it is with which props, etc. Yes, it takes work for you, but I think today's customers expect that. People also like to see engine drawings and mounting info so the they can check it against their projects to see how it fits, or prep the plane while waiting for the engine to arrive. You have some very tough competition out there. I think Taurus needs to take these steps to increase sales. I have some training in sales and marketing, my family was in the newspaper business, and my wife is in retail. I know the power of advertising. Do it well, make a good product, and treat people right. You'll come out on top every time. Just my 2 cents worth.

We PM'd back and forth this week, and I am still interested in the 52 for the 80" H9 Cap that Fedex brought me last night! I just need to sell a smaller ZDZ powered Cap first to free up some cash. I like the idea of the rear bearing and double webbed crank. It must make it smoother than the others. In the 40cc to 50 cc range, I've owned a BME 44, a Brison 2.4, and now the ZDZ 40. All great little engines, but none of them are "smooth" as I was told.

Chuck

Kinda like the personal touch with the prospective buyer. I understand that. I'm a hearing impaired oldie and don't do any phone calling that is not really needed. I'm sure you would answer my e-mails. But I still would like to see the prices on the web site. Thanks for listening. Brian Smith

OK my turn. Kangke Texas Hurricane
78" WS, 1062 sq", 15.5 LBs, Futuba TX and RX
Hitec servos all around 6 total. Three servos in the tail
HS 5625MG each aileron
HS 5645MG rudder, pull, pull
HS 625 MG each elevator half
HS 545 throttle
Added stuff
Abell R/C LG 1" taller and a bit thicker, Kavan hard wheels with Abell rims
OH YESSSS, a TS 52 with a wrap around Pitts muffler and a special Tarus short motor mount
With no extra weight it balances in the middle of the recommended range.
Even at 15.5lbs its a real floater and of course excess vertical performance
