Didn't get much snow, just a light dusting. I am also really sick today so I didn't get to run the Blizzard. Hopefully soon.

No lasting snow here either, and its the end of the first week of December. Great White North my chilly butt. Cold, but no d*mned snow!

And before ya ask, won't be any videos... not unless I can 'borrow' a camera from the pawn shop... or figure out how I can unload two board and two planes in the Off-Season without loosing my shorts.

If anyone wants measurements to make near-original plow supports, I'll measure my parts up, or possibly get 'em scanned in (they could all lay flat on the plate 'cept the blade)

As for weight for plowing... why not add ~BATTERIES~ if your plow is electric. Either make a gang-lead to hook a few 6 cell packs together (parallel pos together, neg together) or blow for a heavier gel-cell battery.

I had a few gel-cells years ago, one ran my King Tiger for hours before going flat. And the ones I had in my 52" boat weren't enough ballast. Moved to a pair of 12v motorcycles, still not enough. Three of them would have been enough if i'd placed 'em right, but I added 2 distributed kilos of lead instead.

WhiteWolf- hoping his Futaba 6XA arrives soon.

We had another dusting of snow last night, not enough to get excited about though.

If you could get me some measurements or scanned images of the plow that would be awesome. I am going to make a plow for my Blizzard this winter. I am also going to make a snowmobile style trail drag too. I will most likely make this out of wood because it would be so much easier to make and it will only be for looks anyways. I may make it out of aluminum after I get it just the way I want it.

Will get on it... as for ease of build, there aren't really any complex curves on anything but the blade, and all the pieces can be made out of 1/4 keystock, available dirt cheap at bulk hardware stores or a shop that sells aluminum. I've got some here awaiting a custom framing job that I still haven't attacked yet.

Re: the groomer, I'm hoping to contact one of the Germans who have these, and get the measurements on the parts. As yet, no luck, but I'm still trying.

ERF:

I just realised you will have to do a ~bit~ of customizartion/adaptation... Why?

The EV chassis is not a 1:1 match mount-location-wise to the DX tub. I'd have to have another look at the assembled glacis to see how the mounts would need to be adapted. Then there is figuring out how to rig the actuator for the loft/lower servo. You may want to take the mount and further mod it to make the blade pivot left-right.

Will try to take some pics tomorrow... weather is supposed to stay about at the freezing mark ( 0 Celcius / 32 Fahrenheit ) so I won't freeze my fingers off while taking the pics.

I have the plow and sled drag almost finished. I would post pics but I want to have them all painted before I post the pics. Should be soon though. So far the Blizzard is a lot of fun, just need to get rid of the cheap mechanical esc. I have a waterproof LRP coming in a few days. I also put a Trinity P2K motor in, seems to be much better but haven't tried it in the snow with that motor. If not I will put in my 22x1 Magnetic Mayhem and see how that works.

Ah... gotcha, I'm reg'ing & loggin in to set up my account now.

We're supposed to get a foot of snow between now and Sunday, so if the Weather isn't too cold, I'll see if I can get the baby out for her first romp. Will try to get around to the 'plans' for the snow-blade, or at least the DV version, and the one set of groomer mounts I have (no assembly, just the f'in mounts *sigh*

A bonus to anyone who can get the measurements for it... and I ain't talking applause and grateful thanks.

Just a note: the Blizzard runs very well on SAND, too. I had my nitro climb like crazy over many feets high "mountains" of sand dropped by trucks, and it's very funny to see all that sand fly away and see it grasp and climb...just to JUMP when it reaches the top, and run quickly down the other hillside...
Downside is, you need to blow it all with an air compressor after running it, as sand enters everywhere. No problems, anyway, as the gears are nylon and the carb is closed by the air filter.
