Got the stainless steel Hellfire screw kit, the difference is night and day, it's like comparing a old ford to a new Rolls Royce, way more threads, extremely strong threads and heads, and they just look great on the truck. I've started taking off and replacing, a few stock ones on the lower chassis are stripped so I may or not replace those, no need for the hassle if I don't need to access that part, but these new screws I am most defiantly not expecting to strip, A+ quality.

the low speed, mid range, and idle adjustment should be set flush with the carberator body and the high speed needle should be set flush with the groove that is on the gold stem that the high speed needle is on

I bought the RC Screwz Hellfire RTR kit, I noticed a few screws missing..maybe I misplaced them, I unno, I just sobered up and noticed a few are missing...maybe I put them somewhere. The Grabit bit helped me remove another 3 stripped screws, but one I just can't get out, I'll have to dremel it out I guess. I replaced the majority of the bottom screws, can't do the top until my shock towers and what not come in, but here's a sneak peak.

You could also have an air leak somewhere. Check the fuel line for cracks and check the carb to make sure its tight

Is there any easy way to check for air leaks? I have inspected the fuel line and as it is all new, there do not seem to be any probs. The carb appears tight too. I'll richen it massively and see what happens to the temp.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Oh, as a long shot, there is sometimes a guy on ebay who sells bulk lots of hellfire parts but he is adamant that he will not ship to the UK. As the hellfire is discontinued, parts here are few and far between. It is cheaper for me to by parts from US sellers and get them shipped here. If this guy happens to list any more bulk lots, would anyone in the US on here accept delivery for me and then reship to the UK (obviously I'd pay for the shipping)?

I thought you could still order from HPI? Even with thier discontinued models they still make parts for them for a couple years after they are discontinued.

I had same issue few years back. Couldnt get parts (and you need them for the RTR HF, lots of them!)in Australia.
I ended up getting a used HF off fleabay and use it for all my spare parts needs. Its so easy to have all the parts on hand.
Since then ive puchased the SS version off ebay and it is soooo much better quality and stronger than the RTR. I have a mountain of parts to maintain mine but the SS doesnt break much.
Try and but SS parts if you can.

The HPI Europe website in the UK has next to no parts anymore. In the UK HPI uses a distributor called Mirage Racing to supply everything.(they run the HPI Europe website). So I guess the distributor don't want to buy in parts for a car that's dicontinued.

As for buying a secondhand SS or RTR for parts off ebay, they hardly ever come up and when they do they're still about US $200+   but I keep looking there becuase I might get a bargin one oneday

On EBay, HPI Hellfire gets 880 hits. There are a number of online hobby stores that carry parts. So what's the problem again?

those 4.6HO always run hot if you want to get any real power out of it- if its smokin and running hot you probably have weak compression

what you get for a $100 motor

I have another tip for steering issues - epoxy the bellcrank to the servo saver post- that hex head does not hold tight in the plastic :-P

When I have my Hellfire sitting up on a stand or something that keeps the wheels off the ground the wheels can turn left and right quite a bit with out the servo horn even moving, and I dont think it is supposed to do that or am I wrong?

No the servo horn does not move when it does this because it pretty much just moves freely when i use my hand to turn the tires left and right.
How do I add more tension to the spring on the servo saver?

The bottom plate screws up to tighten the spring.
When you move the wheels back and forth what else is moving? Something must be loose

Its just the steering plate and the wheels that turn and then it goes to the servo saver and I checked the servo saver and there is little to no tension at all on the spring so I screwed that collar and it tightened and it is a little better but it is now to tight to tighten by hand so what can I use to tighten it more?

needle nose pliers should work. You dont want to over tighten it to the point the spring can flex though.

Finally got my Integy HD Shock towers in, I really can't see why people hate Integy so much, they seem like such good parts...even if they were "lacking" in the aluminum they use, their parts have so much MORE that there is no way stock is stronger. I took a pic of the stock aluminum shock tower right next to the Integy HD one, BIG difference.

Are you comparing a RTR tower to the Integy? Cuz there is no way that Integy is as good as a SS part. Trust the majority of people, Integy is crappola.

You mean am I compareing a 15$ shock tower to a 45+$ shock tower? No I'm comparing it to the stock one, which I posted a photo of :P, Integy parts sure do look nice though, and they are def beefy.

Yeah the RTR shock towers bend very easily. The SS are quite good quality.
The integy surely must be better than the stock.

SS towers are $39 at AMain or

But some people have to learn the hard way. Integy are not better than the RTR towers.
