You could try doing a side slip on landing approach. This takes some practice, but works well on a plane like the Telemaster. To side slip: at engine idle, with aileron, drop one wing a little (into the wind if there is a cross wind), then gradually apply opposite rudder to stop any turning tendency; the plane will descend rapidly with little or no gain in air speed. This can give you a shorter approach and use less runway on landings. We do it all the time in full-scale flying. And, whatever you do, GET THAT AIRPLANE SLOWED DOWN WHILE ON DOWNWIND! I teach at our field, and too many pilots fly the entire approach way too fast; then they come in high and fast, dive the plane at the runway, and now they've got just too much air speed. Most planes will fly very slow if we give them a chance. If you are afriad of a stall at low speed, then go up high and practice SLOW FLIGHT; you'll be amazed at how slow that plane will fly before stalling! Good Luck.
