I finally got to video my Senior Telemaster and it flew as expected...like a dream. As with any Telemaster, they just love to fly and can be a bit lofty when landing. On the rolls, we used plenty of down elevator when inverted. The AXI 4130 provides awesome power and the BalancePro HD 6s2p 6400mAh pack provides long 30 minute flights. The winds were 10-15mph during the video and the plane could easily have been another pound heavier to help keep it stable.

I really enjoyed flying this big bird and plan a follow up review on it with the R/C Sky Diver. I'll post some flying photos soon.

Greg,

Excellent job and excellent videography! Mine will fly next weekend and I only hope my landings will be as nice and smooth as yours. Good job!

As the message about about posts ie: resist urge to curse or flame...#$@@*& . Ok that is over, Greg, I saw in your post about the vertical fin not fitting, and now REALLY understand what you did, you notched the fin to fit down on the HS so the fin fits on top of aft end. Me, I took a different and $#$%^ route. I cut the CHANNEL clean through to the back so now I have a unjoined rear where the fuse sides meet (top side only, bottom is still intact. You see any serious fault with this if I use appropriate amounts of epoxy and clamp while curing? I cannot believe I did this, but oh well done now. Thanks

I think that will work fine if you glue it well. Fortunately, you can't see inside that area so feel free to gob some epoxy in there. The Telemaster seems to fly even better when made heavy.

Good luck!

Herm, you need a lot of travel on the rudder and elevator. start very high, give it full rudder and full up elevator, it will snap and go into a spin, then at full throtle, start feeding oposite aileron very slowly, untill the spin flattens, if you haven`t increased the rudder size, to come out feed down elevator and aileron in the same direction of the spin, it will go into a regular spin, then with oposite ruder it should come out, I increased the rudder size by 50% and mine will come out of the flat spin just by giving oposite rudder. My CG is 6-1/4" from the leading edge. Make shure you have plenty of altitud befor atempting to do a flat spin, some aiplanes don`t want to come out of it. Good luck.

Hi Calixto,

My telemaster is still flying great, flew it last Sunday along with two other planes. That Panasonic camera that you told me about works great, but, I've failed at taking in flight video because it's hard to tell that it's on, in the direct sunlight. In addition, my wing hold down modification is working perfectly, no elastics. Anyone new to the Telemaster, my modification method and pictures is a few pages back. Everyone should eliminate those elastics on this model, they have to be stretched too far and often snap on your fingers.

Back to the camera, I strapped the camera to the Telemaster with packing tape, that part works fine, because the camera is so small. However, it's hard to push the start button with the tape covering it, and I end up turning it on, then off, in the same motion. This weekend I will perfect it.

I am really bummed about this, because this weekend I could have gotten some great in flight videos of other planes.

Oh yes, as we all know, the Telemaster does not want to land, quite an unusual plane.

Hi Al.
Good to hear you are having a ball with your Telemaster, I crashed mine yesterday, I was doing really slow flying at low altitud and it just stalled when I banked it to fly in front of me, broke the fuse in two pieces right behind the wing. I don`t know if I will repair it or order a new fuse, will take a closer look tonight. Looking forward to see your videos.

Calixto:

Contact Hobby Lobby immediately and get a new ARF and new prop, I hope the electronics are OK. While the new ARF is in transit you can strip the old plane and get ready for the new plane to arrive. Oh yes, I forgot, contact your sons and tell them that you are charging the new plane and supplies to the company credit card.

I would send you condolences, but, I receive these kind of words on a weekly basis and I assume they don't mean much to you either. They don't seem to mean much because I suspect that we keep doing the same things over and over, old habits I guess. LOL... Anyhow, you probably need something to keep you busy for a week, build a new Telemaster. LOL

My sons are getting tired of watching me do nothing but play with the computer at work, I don`t think they will put up with me charging airplanes to the company credit card, may try it anyway and see if they dare fire me, that would force me to go fly rc every day. Good thing
the repair will keep me from finishing an autogyro that is allmost ready and I am afraid to fly.

Calixto,

How long do you think the autogyro will last, c'mon be reasonable. As a backup, call Hobby Lobby. Do you realize that another day passed as a result of our communicating, now, it's one day longer for delivery of you new Telemaster. Let's get hobbing on this, time is flying by.
