I really appreciate and enjoy seeing a well thought out and put together project like this. Hats off to you, I can't wait to see the finished product!

Thanks for the compliments; I've been trying to do a buttload of homework, and this setup is pretty much the result.

From your post in the car thread:

stock 2.0 liter w/ Precision SC61 at 19 psi for 424 whp.

How on earth is that stock bottom end built to hold 19#s? ...Must be stout. I have enough turbo to go into the twenties, but it will be a long time, if ever, before I try even 19#. Both of your setups look very nice and clean... and what's more fun than turbo?

Turbo is great fun indeed.

Thank you for the kind words. The engine was built in several facory turbo variants in Japan, one of which was used in Factory Rally. It comes with a forged, eight counter weight crank, crank girdle, large rods and thick ring lands. The compression is a reasonable 9.5:1. The US version, as usual, dropped the turbo, piston squirters and sodium filled exhaust valves, but kept most of the architecture, which makes it a really strong 4 banger.

Sarcasm, yes..... No, it is an actual car, didn't think I needed the extra descriptive, but there it is.

lol@a 346ci 800hp RC car.

and you thought a good 1/8 scale Serpent would get away from ya quick

frost, is the car a straight-line specialist, or will it be able to at least negotiate a parking lot, too?

I'm not gonna murder the handling with a 4-link, and my daily street shoes are wide so it'll still handle, but I'm looking to really be going fast in a straight line.

I want something that even from a 60-80 MPH roll will suprise the hell out of big-cc'd sportbike riders. With a 6-spd, my ETs will never really reflect how fast the car could go, but the MPH will. Once everything is dialed (slower process with turbo than N/A) I am hoping for a MPH that is 9-second ET territory, even if it means carrying a mid-high 10 second ET. The reason is that from a roll on the street, it will be competetive with a real 9-second ride.

To launch a turbo with a manual you need a 2-step to be able to build boost off the line. A guy in my club went through a few Viper trannies with 'unbreakable' input and output shafts until he finally ditched his two-step. Seeing this, I'm not even going to run one. This contributes to a lower track ET also, but the car is primarily for fun on the street.

A 6 point bar is legal for 10-second territory, and I don't want to cut up the interior yet for a cage... besides.....

...it's a street car.

I wanted to do a turbo project after seeing this car . This car was built by a more recent friend of mine and is the result of alot of time, money, and research. The first link leads to a posting on our car club's forum which has a link to his recent turbo 'upgrade' to a monster 88MM unit.:

http://www.fastrides.com/forums/3954/ShowPost.aspx

Here is some video showing how streetable the car is and a FAST 1/4 mile pass. The car was severly traction impaired on the street tires that day, but what can you really do with 1000+ RWHP? There are broadband and dialup versions of the video. Enjoy.

The TA is still under the knife, so i have been toying with my daily driver a bit... I had it apart for 2 days this weekend at work putting in stereo and nitrous. The daily driver is getting a 150HP wet shot. I live in an apt. at the moment, so these are taken in the shop at work.
