I love my Tmaxx and I love my Savage...Revo's are kewl but i'm a basher not a racer........and believe me or not my Duratrax Nitro evader with OS .18 will smoke both the Tmaxx 2.5 and my Savage ss with .25 in a drag race...but lets face it people they are differant trucks each having their own merits........thats what makes this hobby so much fun...the choices we have in trucks and equipment are awesome........as my dear old Mother used to say before she left this world....it would be pretty boring around here if we were all the same...

ORIGINAL: BAMF90] I know how to tune, and mine keeps up with my friends buggy, now that should say something because aren't buggies supposed to be the fastest things out there(RC wise)? I usually run the engine a bit rich not to risk any damage, and sometimes no matter how much I lean it out, it doesn't even get near 200 degrees.

HAHA, buggies? fastest? Try 1/8 on road cars, pan cars and lots of other classes. If you knew what you were talking about you would know that your engine not getting to 200 degrees is extremely bad for it, you're putting extreme stress on the engine components and you aren't getting full performance. The TRX engines should be run around 250 F. I have never owned a 3.3 but I've seen them, tuned them and driven them, I don't need to own one. To the guy that reckons his Tmaxx with the 3.3 keeps up with high dollar buggies and truggies on the track, I say keep dreaming, a stock crap max with a 3.3 holding its own against high dollar bugs and trugs on the track HAHAHAHA

I was talking off-road. And my Revo does keep up with my friend's buggy. I know I could probably never beat an On-road, but I used to have one and never got the chance to try. If you've never owned a 3.3 then don't say it's a POS. Race one against a TM, see what happens. I did, and WON. Nobody listen to all the BS this guy is saying about the 3.3. If you want that engine, don't have second thoughts, it's great. Please let's finish this 3.3 vs. TM argument. I'm DONE.

Still coming for more huh? Don't call a 3.3 crap when you haven't owned one for a long period of time. Mine still runs strong at almost the 4 gallon mark.

i have a 2.5 revo and my dad has the savage,
if we are on pavement the savage is a little more on the bottom end but on dirt my revo leaves the savage in the dust.
because of the awsome suspention set up of the revo you can go full throtle over really ruff terrain while the savage gets thrown all over the place and flips

Crimefighters are a darn good tire. I've heard they do well and last for a decent amount of time before they become time to replace.

Just based out of the two he mentioned, the Crimefighters do last. I have to agree though, if you're going for a good tire that can take maximum run time, it would have to be those bowties.

LOL... a much needed break... and... I've been too busy for this crap. I had to go back to work, my business wasn't working out like it had in the past... so, instead of having all day to post, I don't have much time at all.... work 8-5, come home... help the wifey take care of the kid... do some bookkeeping for my mom's business... update some websites... (I'm a web designer) design some new graphics... find some time to relax... and do it all over again.

Not only that.. many of the posts here are boring and childish. Just got tired of the same ol' crap...

I hate to rehash old threads, which this one isn't too old but still, I have a revo and the thing is great stock... I run it hard, sometimes i think too hard.. even with the stock a arms.. I've ran this thing into curbs at 45 degree angles at more than half throttle. 25-30mph and it simple just bounces off them... I've landed my revo so hard that it sent shivers up my spine. Hell it's still rolling.... only parts I've put on it is a rear skid plate and the trinity hi-flow exhaust and a on-board temp gauge. I told myself when i bought i that I'd upgrade the parts as they broke.... I spend more money every weekend on my nitro road car than anything else.... I take both out with me each time i run and once i break my road car... I've always got my revo to bash around with.... I've even landed my revo upside down in a lake... pulled it out dried it off and away it went. so all of you with savages just stop already.... they are both worthy opponents. Only major upgrade I'd recommend for the revo out of the box is the hi-flow exhaust and a little more powerful engine. Mine is the TRX2.5r and if you looking to pull wheelies with it out of the box... it can't..... next upgrade is I'm going to try the new TRX3.3 to see how it performs on the shorter chassis. after that Picco here I come....

I had a limited edition savage, the one with the 3 speed and the s-25 with the tuned pipe. I have since bought a revo 2.5r and a picco .26 max and some other stuff from tower hobbies, I went one tooth up on the clutchbell, that is the only gering change i made and for a test the other day, I wound my shift point in so it would shift very late, until the point it wasn't shifting, it was faster than my savage in 3rd gear. In second my revo is stupid fast, it hits second gear and wheelies and wheelies whenever u nail the throttle in first. The revo imo is a much better truck, it's well designed, easy to use, drives well and all that stuff. I am so happy I sold my savage and bought a revo and a picco. I never ran the 2.5r, it's still brand new with a carb and everything if anyone wants it.

I like both the Revo and the Savage...the revo is a better performer no doupt, the Savage is more of a basher... Both are tough, but both will break.... My complaint with the Revo are that the drivetrain is very fragile when you run powerful big blocks...But if you stay small or mid block the Revo does fine....But if you like high performance you can't beat a Truggy, it lays a whooping on both the Revo and the Savage.

LOL.... this thread is funny..

I own both trucks.. I had to put over $200 into my Revo before it could bash along side my stock Savage X. The only upgrades on the Savage X are RPM suspension arms and a Hitec 645 high torque servo. I even had to put Savage 25 wheels and tires on my Revo because the stock Talons suck so bad not to mention the horrible exhaust placement.

Next.. me wants a Truggy. mmmmmmmmm
