Does anyone know of a .21 that the Losi rotostart or Hpi rotostart fit on? The .26 has excellent torque, but i would prefer a nice .21(rb, novarossi, etc) with more RPM's and a lil less torque. They have enough ripp anyway to get the truck moving without breakin the tires loose but they have alot of rpm's. And it will also give me more run time(less pits). Dont want a pullstart tho. Has to be able to fit some sort of rotostart system.

why would you want to put a .21 on?
it would slow it down conserderably and less torque.
so that sounds like a bad idea

Well, the obvious engines would be the HPI .21 and the NS.25. They obviously will accept the roto start. There is also a product called Tigerdrive that uses a drill to start the engine. They may make a backplate to fit other engines.
I've gotta tell ya though, I think you'll be seriously disapointed with the performance of a .21 size motor on the LST.

the thunder tiger 21 found on the monster gt has a backplate on it that allows for the losi spinstart to start it, also if the battery in the starter dies there is also a pulstart on it. my roommate has an MGT and that little 21 pushes it pretty well

Trust me...if you ever seen a rb or novarossi .21 run its not a downgrade. They will easily run right next to the mach 26 with no problem. Dont get it wrong, the mach motor is a killer motor. I run it in just about all my vehicles(truggy, savage, MGT, buggy). I think its 1 of the best motors out there for the $$$. But a GOOD .21 has alot of advantages on the track(as far as run time, traction control, and top end speed if you have the right motor).

As long as you don't mind burning more fuel, and you run a technical track, I might agree with you dk. But I disagree about the longer run times. A .32 is going to have the same HP at a lower rpm than a .21, so that should mean more fuel consumption for the .21.

The Novarossi's are some of the best engines made. Have one mod'd and you will have the widest powerband possible. They make a .28 that you might want to look at....

There would be no disappointment in putting a race .21 in an LST. The stocker .26 is a great reliable sport motor. The .26 is a pig as far as fuel consumption. You might not think so only because the LST fuel tank is huge. A race .21 will eat that .26 for lunch and beg for more. I understand that so many are interested in larger displacement, which usually results in great torque and low rpm. I understand completely where DK is coming from. If anyone wants to put a great race .21 in the LST, and really see what fast is, put in an RB S7, RB C5, or an RB WS7 II. Unlimited engineering has a kit with a modified crank to accept a pull start in the LST. It'll cost you $150.00 for the conversion kit. If you don't have an RB motor add on an additional 3-$500 more for the motor. Don't confuse displacement with quality workmanship and aggressive porting. Also I must say it really doesn't matter who has the fastest motor as far as racing goes because the better driver will win every time no matter what you're wheelin'. Good luck DK )

Rossi has 2 motors for the LST.The Monster .25. They are both .25's and pump out close to 40,000 rpms. One is a roto-start and on is a pull start. Rossi has one of if not the best piston and sleeve in the business. These motors run close to $400.00 but you'll buy 4 Mach .26's before you can even think about a rebuild on any Rossi. Rossi's however are for the experienced tuner. They are very tempermental. If you do decide to buy a Rossi, plan on using at least 2 gallons of fuel before the motor is broke in and runs at optimal performance.
