Well he's got to wrestle it away from me first and then maybe Bob Sadler second . Jim might have some video of it from over the weekend but it probably is not really exciting considering I was doing mainly IMAC type stuff with it. If the weather is nice this weekend Jim and I will probably fly it and try to get some video's. The cool thing is it flies like his 35% panzl and harriers just as well which is the most shocking thing.

OK fellas... I'm right on the fence considering ordering a Panzl... love the shape of it, not a huge fan of the scheme though. Is it really easy to see in flight? The top and bottom look like they could seem about the same on a cloudy day.
Also, what are the major differences in flight characteristics between the 330SX and the Panzl. Why is the Panzl so much better? I have the Extra and like it (though it is pretty heavy), but would like to know what I would gain with the Panzl... I would probably sell the Extra if I got it.
Also, I got an e-mail from JTEC saying that they aren't sure if they will actually produce the 30% Panzl since there's so much competition on the market... any updates on this?

I think McQueen can probably answer this better then me but the panzl is just all around awesome. I have a fair bit of time on both planes but I like how the panzl looks and flies. The Panzl flies more axial, has less mixing, snaps more consistant, lands better, and 3D's better then any airplane I have ever seen. As for the scheme its awesome to see in the sky especially on those really gray days because the contrast between yellow and red. Unlike what is currently on the website the panzl should come in around 25 -28lbs depending on your setup so a DA, 3W, or BME will rocket it around the sky. I know on Jim's we had to prop it up a bit at a IMAC event we went to because it was actually to fast on an upline.
As for the 30% it is still up in the air but like I said in the email there is just so much competion in the 50cc class we are just not sure it will not get lost in the crowd. If there is enough interest we will do them but we need people to let us know.

I don't really have alot of exp. with the 35% Extra so I can't really say what it is about the Panzl that makes it my choice. It's just one of the most locked in airplanes I've ever owned or flown. Whether it's IMAC or 3D'ing it seems to do exactley what you ask of it without any surprises. Snaps are just so crisp. When you put it on a line, it just stays there. Not sure if it has anything to do with the shape of the fuse being completely square when compared to an Extra, but in high alpha stuff it just hangs there. The control surfaces are extremely powerful and you'd be hard pressed to get yourself into a situation that you couldn't just gun the throttle and bury the sticks to get out of. As for the scheme, the yellow/red swoops are totally opposite of what is on the bottom of the airplane. You cannot get confused with up and down on this bird, even on the grayest of days it just shows up really well. If your not a fan of the scheme,I'd suggest building one of the kits. Even if your not an expert builder, you could easily frame one up in a week. Afterall, your only really building the fuse which is like a big 3D jigsaw puzzle. The wings,tail,fin/rudder,turtledeck are all completely done in sheeted foam. All you have to do is mount the root ribs and thats it. The servo bays are cut out,the surfaces are already pre-cut for hinges and you don't even need to finish sand the balsa. It's perfect right out of the box. I've built two panzls from kits now.
The first one took me 16 hours from box to RTC. Here's some pics of the two I've built. I'm working on finishing the white/red one up right now for a friend.
