I use the 805 in my Marder and a Multiplex Jumbo for my Harm. I find the Multiplex slower and has less torque. Also depends on where you are. The Hitec's are easier to get here in North America and you see Multiplex servos more often in Europe sine they are German I believe. But now that they are together who knows. The red also looks cool!!

I have seen at least 3 non oddified tonegawas in leopards and they are fine. I assume all servos slow down under load but the standard tonegawa is so powerfull (@6v 0.29s/65kg/907ozin) that the effect is less so it kinda makes less difference. You can always save yourself £40 and buy the standard and get it moddified later.

As a comparrison a Multiplex Jumbo MCV2 is only @6v 297ozin 0.23s I cant see that 0.06 of a second no load speed makes it to slow to use.

Sorry but Ian Oddie was the person who told me not to use a standard tonegawa as it was too slow. Speed is not that important off road but it matters on road and I prefer my steering to be responsive. I have yet to see anyone who races use a standard tonegawa.

i think its worth paying that little extra for the oddie servo - if your willing to pay £180 for standard tone you may as well pay £40 more and get metal gears,bearings,faster gearing,uprated looms and whatever else in a oddified servo.

£180 for a standard Tonegawa I didn't even pay that for a Oddiefied one

In fact the Oddiefied tonegawa is listed at £179 most places

i bought mine off ebay £80 so i was going off the price veron had quoted on page one for a new one "you don't need the modified oddifield one you can get the standard one as well for 179 quid" he might not of relised that sb £179 tones are oddified

Fair comment about on road, much more precise science. When I read "MT" I assumed off road. Recomending his own product though, that is style

A non oddified one is £139, still big bucks though

you can only use two 5745 in the fg radio tray for steering as there 1/4 scale brick servos - brakes and throttle you need a standard size servo,you will only need one of those unless you intend to add extra sets of brakes then 2 standard servos would be ideal. hitec 5945 servos are good choice for brakes and throttle or futaba s9351 but there way overpriced.

i use 2x 5745 in my marder and they have more than enough torque

i can modify lil bit and make them fit...if i really want to

what is that hting on top of your reciever box? and how did you manage to take out the top plates of the magura to chnage them?
and where i can buy those plates?

thing ontop of receiver box is battery checker - plugs directly into a reciver/battery useing a ylead - its switchable between 4.8v and 6v,just keeps an eyes on battery level - only cost around £5 - £10.the alloy decals on servos & magura cylinder are from a german ebay seller - i have bought a few things off him in the past - speaks good english so no probs when ordering,link below

edit: plates easy to change - on magura theres just 4 small allan bolts ontop - remove and swap over the stock plastic for alloy - same as on the 5745 - remove 6 screws and swap over.

thanks man...but dude!!!!!!! i was unsrewing the 4 bolts on magura, and it started liking oil all over the place LOlllll...now my brakes are gone

don't know how to make them work now

you need a bleeding kit - fg charge around £50 for it,cheap way to do it is

a) get a plastic syringe used on printer refill kits and attach a 10cm lengh of plastic/silicon hose.

b) fill syringe with fg magura hydro oil or buy magura royal blood from a mountain bikeshop - same stuff 1/4 of the price but dont use auto grade hydro oil as it eats away the seal

c) push the syringe/tube over the brake calliper bleed nipple on the wheel and open it a 1/4 turn

d) put a 10cm lengh of tube over the bleed nipple on cylinder then open that 1/4 turn

e) now that both cylinder and brake nipples are open push the hydro fluid through the system - as you press the syringe you will see the fluid going through the tubes - once you are satisifed the system is full and you can see no airlocks in the pipes and overflown fluid is coming out the cylinder tube just close off both nipples then remove tubes and thats it done.

the brake calliper must be lower than the cylinder when pushin the fluid through the system as gravity helps get rid of airlocks so your pushing the fluid upover.if your doing front brakes then lean the model against a wall so the front wheels are on the ground - rear wheels in the air - vice versa for doing back brakes..for best results do all 4 wheel callipers if running two sets of hydros

Gaz, I had a MT a few months back with 2 steering servos. I ended up using one cause it works just as good with one as it does 2. Having 2 you can steering sitting still on the ground in dirt, gravel etc... but thats it.
