what servos do you use for steering and servo?
i am think of use these for steering x2
and these for gas and brakes and frount brakes http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXANT5&P=0

Hi I use a supertec 7776bb for steering and a hitec 700bb for throttle/brake

777 is @6v 0.12 secs and 46kgs and is only about £35 if you can find one, great servo.

the large servo you suggest looks like a Hitec 805 copy which should be ok. the small one is ok for rear layshaft standard brakes but would struggle with cable disk setup.

see ya

after i went spektrum,

Just remember 2 points about using the Spektrum in the uk:-

1, at the moment it's ilegal to actualy use one, You are actualy breaking the law, nothing to do with the brca. The 2.4ghz band isn't aproved for r/c models.

2, if/when it becomes legal to use in the uk, the brca has then to ratify it's use, until then you will not be covered by the brca insurance.

A mail I recived from OFFCOM in september

Our ref: OCMS Call 2535417

Ofcom do indeed issue an information sheet on model control, but the actual regulations are covered in a document called the Interface requirement IR2030. There is a separate section in this document http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/ifi/tech/interface_req/msoC4784.pdf for model control, but there is also a section (table 2.2) for general telecommand. The legal position is that controlling models is by definition telecommand and so they can use the 2.4 GHz allocation in table 2.2, so long as the technical parameters are met. However, this band is "general telecommand", so the model control use will need to share this band with any number of competing technologies, with the consequent effect on the potential for interference to the model.

By now the ra60 should have been updated was due for nov 6, BRCA approved its use at the AGM so their insurance covers it. So it is now legal specificaly not just through general telecommand.

See ya
Col.

Technically the spektrum does not adhere to the recommended channel spacing so is still illegal within the UK until this is resolved.

I use these servos. (Same as a Hobbico CS-80) Two will freely turn a pair of 11" lawn tractor tires on my 70# homebuilt (sitting still). I'm sure you could pay more, but they are workable. MIKE

I give up what does it take? everyone who counts UKRCC, OFCOM and BRCA says "yes" but theres still people who dont that say "no".

Aside from anything as the BRCA will Insure it, who cares? It cant be used at nationals as the largescale section voted against the newfangled technology, but it can NOW be used at club level without any legal worries.

From the BRCA website.

14/11/2005

At the meeting of the UKRCC on the 6th November we received clearance to proceed with 2.4 GHz for R.C. Cars, hence this frequency is now Ok for us to all use. However there may be procedures or race control software that needs updating or changing at your club before they will be able to allow its use, please do check with your club officials before assuming its OK - and do respect their decision if they say NO.
For use at Regional or National level please check with the event organiser or section secretary if the meeting entry form or section minutes doesn't make the situation clear.
Lastly please do remember that this is new technology to most of us, processes will take time to change and problems will be encountered, patience and lots of constructive discussion by all concerned will be required to perfect its use. Feedback on such issue through your club & section secretaries would be beneficial to all.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

anyway this is all for a different thread sorry to hijack this one.

Is the Futaba S3050 enough for T/B? At 6V 90.2 oz-in. I have a Hitec 645 at 6V 133 oz.

I have (2) Multiplex Rhino digi 4's in my MT-5 and a single Multiplex Rhino digi 4 in my Stadium Truck. Everything else same (Hitec 5645 for front brakes and 5645 for throttle\brake). Significant difference in turning performance, not a significant noticable diff in power consumption. Upgrade to second Multiplex Rhino digi 4 coming soon!
