FLAMERS ahahahha I like my XTM yeah its got its weak points what truck doesnt seriously the only mod needed is a chassis brace mine needed more because I detonated my engine after flipping it in dirt mine was frankly a deal though (gotta love used) I have made mine lighter more durable and most of all faster (with a .26 no less) then a mayhem total cost in my truck is STILL less then a mayhem new. Take the 40 series wheels and tires off youll get even more tuneable truck since alot of tuning is in the tires... in the mayhems defense though if the XTM had spider diffs and a center diff I would be alot happier with it

and everyone complaining about chassis flex it doesnt help the chassis is like 3 inches longer then most chassis' so it will be more prone to flexing

Yea, some people don't understand that..

If someone made the perfect RC truck that never failed never had any issues or short comings.... I think some of the previous writers would still find something to gripe and complain about.

I have never once read a review that spoke of an offroad vehicle that couldn't be a bit better here or there.

Past due saying this but have read this a few times and never voiced my opinion before. needed to say it finally.

The LSP? Stock. Ha. That is very offensive. Think about it, the 24.7 is a better motor we have a way better support system, the price is nearly the same, and every racer I know with a ST can whoop the CA off a LSP. And the LSP is modded way more than the LSP. <-What the LSP racer do after they lose to some cheap darn near stock XTM truggy or any other of "our" cars.

He's absolutely right. The LSP is a much better truggy then the XTM. It's actually more offensive that you would think otherwise. I don't care if it has a "better" motor, the mammoth ST is the longest, widest, and heaviest truggy out there. It's just not able to handle like an LSP, or any of the newer truggies for that matter. I'm not saying the XTM is bad, it's just more for the basher in mind.

And that whole drowning smily is pretty immature...

A few more questions if you don't mind me asking...

How does having a better support system help the truggy beat out an LSP?
What does "And the LSP is modded way more than the LSP" mean?

I don't know about you, but I hear that a lot about XTM. Do you have a Mammoth ST? If you check out www.rcvisions.net and look at the ST in the background on the homepage, you'll like it. I hate how ppl criticize when ALL trucks have problems, there is no such thing as the "perfect truck"

I have a totally race tuned Revo that I live for. It had a couple short comings I overcame and It is amazing on the track (IMO). I drove my Mammoth ST for the first time this past weekend and It will kill my Revo with the Sirio.23 in it. I can out rdive my Revo with this truck in totally stock settings. that says a lot for the truck to me.

Mammoth ST is quick and fast and is big and cool looking but it is crappy. Pins come out, MAJOR DIFF PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!! Mayhem ST is a solid reliable truck that is 10 times the quality. It's not even a fair comparison. XTM is Mammoth which is HOBBY PEOPLE, nuff said.

I gotta check in after running the Mayhem ST around a good bit now.

I thoroughly enjoy this truck. The factory that built it must have banned the use of thread lock, but that seems to be true for 80% of the RTRs. You just need to get into nooks and crannies and threadlock all metal to metal and tighten all metal to plastic fasteners - even more so than other RTR packages.

Just seems that tracks are tight and being little and nimble is the way to go in most places.

I could not buy the XTM after feeling how heavy it was, and looking it over it seemed okay at best.

mammoth just needs center diff instead of two spd and some dadders.net center braces and it'll hang with the best...I dunno much about the mayhem though

It's no secret I race a Mayhem ST and love it!!! It's tough so I can bash it, it's fast so it turns heads, and I have over 4 gallons through the Sportwerks .26 motor and it i still kicking great!!!!

Last sunday I TQ'ed and took 1st place at our local hobby town race. It's parking lot racing, but none the less that mayhem knows how to get around the track!!!

With the engine you get, the spektrum radio......It's a great deal at 550$ Maybe cheaper if you know someone, like me

Every body in this thread is correct but I can say that I raced prepped a Mammoth ST and the kid was in my rear veiw mirror and passed me a couple of times during the main and my CRT has major money and mods in it. Just dont over power the Mammy and get a center diff and run smaller MT size race tires. I stiffened up his suspension arms with carbon fiber plates cut from an old Savage chassis and the thing could turn and burn with the best. The Mayhem ST is a good truck too but it really comes to light when you slap on an extended chassis and then it becomes much easier to drive fast and is more forgiving when you make mistakes. Now the Kyosho ST Ready Set is available and yes it will need upgrades to make it a reliable racer as do most RTR's but for $400 clams, you cant go wrong. Everybody has their own opinion on which truck is best so just keep an open mind and make what ever your running the best it can be and that all depends on if you are a serious racer or not.
