Mike:

What is the purpose of the removable board under the faceplate labled "The R/C Partner"?

Also. I would like to order an new chromed face plate and button labels for my TX. The labeling is wearing off and they were very scratched when I got it new. I gold plated parts of the chrome face plate and want to do it again, only a little different. I have a gold plated handle and rubber ducky antenna. It's my "Gold Edition" transmitter, buy the locals call it a "pimp TX".

That is the Flash memory, it contains all the programming for the radio. In the future when there is updated software we will just change or reprogram it to update the radio.

Contact mailto:service@hitecrcd.com for a new faceplate.

Mike.

Hey Mike,
Now that someone mentioned it, my Eclipse faceplate, labels, and buttons also came scratched up from the factory/dealer. The rest of the radio was mint- not even a fingerprint.

It might just be the protective plastic that is scratched. Peel it off to reveil a shiny clean faceplate.

Next question:

TomM: There also is a protective plastic sheet covering the screen. And you thought it was time for cataract surgery!

By the way, I have owned many different radios in the 35 years I have been into R/C and have been using hitec equiptment for the last 8 years and love my Eclipse 7. Presently I have 2 hitex TX's, 10 RX's, and 36 servos, which are 205's and smaller.

The only problem I have had is with the batteries that come from the factory. After a while I find they will not hold a charge, so I replace them with Sanyos. Also, I will buy some new servos from the local hobby shop, only to have that one discontinued the next month! Oh well, the replacement is always better and parts are always available for the older ones.
