I use Amsoil Saber 100:1 premix. I have never used the outboard mix or know if there is a difference.

I did baffel mine after talking to the guys at DA, they very stongly recomended it. It was not too bad or too much of a pain to do. Easier that buying a new DA 100 anyhow. Worst part is I have to take the mufflers off to get the cowl off without having to remove the top baffel. I will try to post a pic. That is my other Yak also, it has been baffled now too. That one is easier, it has cans.

Hey Cliff, can you post any pictures of your baffling?

I'm in Jersey and looking for any used SD Yaks within driving distance.

Thanks
Bob

i have the 35%er da100 and have not baffled mine at all. temp is around 195 degrees and our temps here in md have been 95 dgrees.. also if you talk to donnie here he has all the yaks and has not baffled any of them. i was talking to da and they said a high normal operating tem,p for the da 100 is between 200 to 250. if you go over 300 is where you get the problems. i do have a fully composite edge 540 with da 100 that is baffled and tend to get hotter then the yak that is not baffled. belive me there is plenty of air that hits that engine......

shot temps on my 35%er last weekend ,96 degrees outside with 100% humidity , after flying and doing mostly 3D (minimal airspeed) for 12 minutes I was reading 167-172 degrees.

attack the build after work , sleep is over rated ...... recently found myself wanting a more powerful tail ,my cg is now 1-5/8 behind the tube. doesn't fly like its wickedly tail heavy.

At Flying Skunks recomendation, I stuck about a 5 oz piece of lead in the stab tube, this after moving the batteries as far aft as I could. It is what I was looking for ! You can fly these things very tail heavy. Adjust the C/G to your taste.

Hi,

I have been reading this thread and the more I read the more I want the 35% Yak!
I believe the new TOC-series from Thunder Tiger is in fact the old Aviation Models-planes originally manufactured by SD-Models. (It takes some detective work to sort things out sometimes..)

I have a question regarding physical size that I hope some of you can answer.
I would like to know the height of the model measured from the ground to the top of the cowl. Also the width between the wheels would be good to know.
The only place I can store it in the house is on the floor underneath my other airplanes. I am sharing the storage room with my wife, so things like being able to enter the room without jumping over airplanes is an issue..

I am choosing between the 33% and the 35%, hoping to be able to go for the 35% as I believe bigger is better. At least when it comes to aerobatic RC-aircrafts.

Thanks and best regards,
Lars
