Hi Al,

I just bought a used Aero-Tech P-51D "Old Crow" without the engine. I've been told that the previous owner put a ZDZ80 in it. I have a ZDZ80 but there is no way the Pitts muffler will work in this airplane. Do you have any suggestions? Apparently this plane flew with the ZDZ80!

Thanks!

Pepito.

Take some low resolution pictures of the engine mounted from the side and the rear (head to firewall) if you can take some measurements also we can see what you have to work with. I sure we can get something done for you.

al,

I have a Brison 6.4 that had been using the 45 degree Bissons mufflers and I have a BME 115 that has a stock set of BME mufflers. I would like to replace the Bisson mufflers on the 6.4 with something similar but "locally" made. The stock BME mufflers severely block access to the carb tuning screws so something needs to change in that area. The 115 is in a 2.6 Comp Yak. Do you have anything already done up that would fit the bill? Each muffler set would need a smoke nipple that could be removed and blocked when not used for smoke. Preferably with something that would thread into the nipple opening.

Thanks Al. As soon as I have it mounted I will take a photo. I just realized that with this large engine I need a shaft extension so I can keep the head as far back as possible !$%^&*%^*!

Thanks.

Pat Roy,

I am sure we can do something for both engines. We do not stock finished mufflers, this allows us to make changes when they are being built.

On the 6.4 we can make them pretty much as you want.

On the BME it would probably help if you could take some pictures of the problem area and send them to us so we can see how to improve access to the needles. It may take putting an access tube through the muffler.

send any pictures to sales@jtecrc.com

you can also call us at 704-799-1658

Thanks
Al
