I already won the race

Give it time, the longest anyone has had one has been a few weeks, and it takes a little time to get going.

More content later, I'm in the stages of finishing 4 of these things. Sanding is my life right now, 16 hour days.........

Oh yeah what's that bottle down there? Heineken is the official beer of Black Magic Construction. Although tonight it's Pepe Lopez...

Wing adjusters

I have a method of doing this that works pretty darned good.

First, if you made that template and cut those holes in the fuse sides, you're in great shape. If not, do it now.

Sand your wing tube socket flush with the fuse sides.

Put some pieces of phenolics around 2 of the adjuster pins.

Elongate the rear holes as shown.

Install the wing, and insert the adjuster pins with the phenolic in the front holes (still circular at this point). This should set the wing exactly where you want it incidence-wise.

make sure your rear adjuster pins are centered in the adjusters. Install them through the holes and tack glue them with thin CA.

I use a 90 degree head on a dremel, with a drill bit installed. Now just punch the holes where the screws go through.

Remove the area of balsa around the hole with a piece of sharpened brass tubing. This provides relief for the screw head.

Now remove the wings, install the screws and nuts with loctite.

Put the wing back on, and this time repeat the process for the front adjusters using your installed rears to hold the wing in place.

Piece of cake, done.

Hi Mike and everybody,

It's been a long day starting with building the building table. I now have the most awesome 4 x 8' MDF table supported on really nice and stright 2x4s. I was able to finish the table quickly, trim out all the fuse former templates, then trim out all the balsa and lite pky formers. Mike I see my problem, it looks like F2 is supposed to be all lite ply. It was really a fun day, got a lot done. Hope to get the fuse sides cut and a start on the sheeting....

Mike I do have a number of questions: I will try an post them to this list... instead of just calling you...

My beer choice tonight was Imperial Stout, brewed in Athens, GA. Hen - but I will pick up some Heineken on the next beer run!

THANKS Mike for the AWESOME BLACK MAGIC!!

It's 2 am and I am ready to crash, I'll type more in the morning....

later all, Dean

also don't cut that middle section out, it's all one piece except for the top curved part, which overlaps.

Hello Mike and everyone,

I had a guest in the airplane factory today, Jim Ivy came by and got me going on my wing and tail sheeting. Things are starting up here, after the superbowl I am going to get back on the fuse formers... I'll write more later after the game...

Well Dean, you're definitely in good hands. I'd love to hear Jim's input on the parts and design. Good and bad

It won't be long and I'll have some awesome pics of the new V2s. I'm doing the paint and monokote now, and man I just thought painting one of these was work....4 is like opening the gates of sandpaper hell.

But, Ocala
