if you take off the cooling head youll see that there are two gaskets, i took one of them off and that fixed the airleak on mine. if that doesnt work than i dont know what to tell you cause mines been flawless since then.

Ran the first tank through tonight. Runs great, I was taking it easy just running up and down the driveway. I jump it a couple of times off of a snow bank. Last jump just before shutting it down I flipped it over and I broke the darn steering link. It is 28 out so that must have something to do with it. I had 2 extras on hand and changed it out. So far I am haveing a blast.

    ynot1,

I too had a similiar issue. I heard a gurgling sound that sound like fuel boiling. Mine was in fact pretty hot 315F or so. I let it cool down completey, it was cold out, and then tried to restart, no luck. From reading, I think this may be vapor lock but I'm no nitro expert. Around that time my truck was running very hot after just a few minutes. I then richened up the low speed and things are much better now. After 7 tanks, it runs perfectly between 250-270F range like it should and it's fast too. I richened it about 3/4 a turn or so.

I ordered a warhead a few days ago and will be getting it here in a couple of days, after reading through the forums I have realized I need a thermometer, but im curious where do you measure the temperature at? do you point at the base of the cooling head? just curious so I don't totally screw up my engine.

Yup, just stick the end of the temp gun (or thermometer) at the glow plug hole. You take the engine temp at the glow plug.

BTW Guys. DT tech support sucks ass. Those guys don't know anything about these trucks at all. I am totaly disapointed with them at this point. They would not even send me some new parts!!! They said use the stress tech warranty. jease, glad I got a brand new truck they will not even warranty.

So how many bell cranks have you guys gone through? I am on my 3rd now. I have 2 extra. I am thinkin I may boil them and see if that helps.

All right, thanks for the tip, also might I suggest calling DT again, maybe you just got a moron, everyone else seems to be happy with the support, I do tech support for dish network and I know that what some people will or won't do depends on who you speak with. although I may be wrong, hopefully not, I look foreward to getting started on break in for my new truck, im sure it's going to break sometime, but hopefully you just got a bad tech support agent.

How many turns out do you guys have your low speed needle? Mine is flooding and I suspect it may be because of the LSN being at the factory 12.5 turns out.

Bill...I'm using an OS 8 plug and I'm in moderate climate (South Carolina). If it glows bright, then it's good right? How do I know if my glow ignitor is weak?

A strong ignitor will lite the glow plug bright orange and can be seen easily in bright light, if the coil is only a dull glow or hard to see in bright light it is not hot enough. I have a meter on my igniter that helps me monitor the battery strength which helps alot too. I have found that even though nicads have lower voltalge than a drycell, they can supply better current than a cheap 1 1/2 volt cell and lites the plugs much better. Just had this experience on the warhead. Could not get it started with the drycell holder and fresh battery that came with it, thought the plug looked a bit dull. Got my aircraft nicade igniter out and it started right away.

My engine floods all the time too, less often as the tank drops so I believe it is becuas
