is the springs behind the clutch shoes? and will every clutch shoe set come with the spring to keep the shoes together...im contiplating whether i get the mugen shoes and springs and ofna clutch bell and keep it 2 shoe config or keep it cheap and just put in the tmax teflon shoes for 7.50$ or the other setup for around 50.00.Will the teflon tmaxx shoes hold up better? and if i go with the tmax shoes i would still want to replace the springs with say 1.0mm springs right?and just get another duratrax clutch shoe spring to wrap around the shoes im alittle confused but i want to do the work myself.would anybody have any ideas for me...thanx!

Luk, I didn't say that was the one you bought. "I" bought the higher mAH because I thought maybe the reason I wasn't getting any runtime out of my old hump pack was because of the cold weather, I didn't know the battery pack had gone bad. If you go to "My Garage" and look at my trucks you'll see one of my TMAXX says it has over $2000 in it, well it's really very close to $3000. You see this is my hobby and if I think I "need" something or I "want" something, I'll get it, I usually don't care about the cost (No, not a new motor for the still not broken in WarHead...LOL). I'm a retired 100% Disabled Viet Nam USMC veteran and I have only 1 bad habit...my TOYS!!! Your 1100mAH will work just fine.
I have 4 different chargers (not counting the ones for the glow starters.
Here's the new charger I use for my Orion 1400mAH and all my hump packs now(I'm sure they fully charge with this one)

I got wondering what you were talking about lukskywalker and had to go back to page 14, page 14 to find out. This is what I said:
    quote:

I'm not saying not to get it, because it is less expensive but the you would put new switch where the old one is. I already had a charge jack and I bought the Orion 1400mAH hump(expensive but can always swap it into another truck later).

Please note that I said "I". I don't know why you brought this up now either. Maybe it's time for me to stop subscribing to this thread. I'm finding myself becoming frustrated more often now.

The TMAXX clutch shoes and spring are a set mojo. The spring goes around the shoes. I wouldn't bother trying to replace the spring that comes with the set. The WarHead motor turns at 35,000 RPM the TRAXXAS 2.5R at 50,000. I'd imagine the spring is strong enough.

the TRX 2.5 doesn't actually turn 50,000 rpm when under a load. no load, maybe, but definitely not whne it's under the load of a transmission and four wheels of a monster truck.

OK, ThunderbirdJunkie, now that you've told us that, why don't you tell us if the TMAXX clutch shoes and spring will hold up under the force of the 35,000 RPMs of the WarHead motor, since that's what my reply was about.

With that being said, I hope I have been able to help someone with at least one of my replies. I've posted my last post. Happy RCing all.........

Sir Chopps......thanks for the reply on the shift point and the shift point springs loosening up.
It's good to know I'm not the only one and that it's normal. Just as long as it holds the adjustment.

I did notice that when I started to adjust it was easy to turn and was getting harder to turn as I adjusted it more. So that confirms what the guy at the shop told you.

Good info for us Warhead owners. Guys, keep the info coming on your Warhead as every little thing or info that you might have on your's might help the next guy.

    Thanks

I had to adjust the shift point on my warhead. My truck was actually starting out in 2nd gear. But I always thought that it was stuck in first gear and not shifting into 2nd. I was told that as you are breaking the truck in, the springs on the shifter will loosen up a little. It was pretty easy to do. The guys at the LHS helped me out.

Bill......don't let a little misunderstanding on a engine rmp keep you out of the posting. Nobody expects all the info of this or any other thread to be 100% correct. I don't know who's right or who's wrong, but there is no reason for you to stop posting.

I beleive you have provided good info for Warhead owners from the beginning and appreciate it as probably alot of guys do.

I'm totally new to this stuff and have posted stuff that I wasn't sure about, that's how we learn from mistakes.

After you busted your's up and the cold weather you have and didn't really get a chance to run it. I'm actually looking forward to you getting a chance to really run your Warhead and here what you have to say about it.

Thanks and hope to see your next post.
