I posted a bit ago about installing the race steering kit. I got some longer screws and installed the kit. I'm still working on setting the toe adjustment. What's the best way to do this and should I set the toe in or out? One more question, What would be a good replacement servo for the steering be? I know it needs more torgue but what would work well with this vehicle?

to set the steering up right you should have a little toe in. but if you want more steering in the turns have them toe out. as for the steering servo this is what i use check out the link from tower. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUZ89&P=ML
hitec 32645S for only $31.99 it's a good strong servo.

I think they look pretty cool. Look like they weigh a lot less!

Alright, need some help. finally got my warhead running good but the sterring is f'd up. I installed the racing steering kit and ever since it doesn't steer well. I 180'd the steering link (angled facing forward) and attached the steering rod to the top of the wheel hub link and the bottom of the steering link. It doesn't turn well at all especially to the left. I know I'm doing something wrong but can't figure it out. does anyone know where to download a pic. diagram or something?

I'm pretty sure it goes on the bottom of the wheel hub link. I originally put mine on the top to reduce the extreme angle that you get, but when you compress the shocks, the wheels toe out from each other. I installed it on the bottom, and it all worked fine other than the fact that the rod end rubbed on the hub due to that extreme angle that I was trying to avoid in the first place. This rub doesn't allow the full range of steering and is incredibly annoying. Anyone know a fix for this?

try this, put a bigger wheel hex on to push the wheel out on the hub. this should give more room for the links. i just installed different wheels that has a different off set and the linkgs dont hit anymore. let us know what you do.

well i have good news and more good news, the new wheels and tires are great. they don't rub the steering links and my steering is faster. the truck gets up to speed much faster and it shifts sooner too. the tires did a good job of cutting the lawn for me lol. i don't know about you guys but when i put the aluminum steering on i was breaking steering servo horn so what i did was put on a heavy duty servo saver from sassy chassis ( old stock that i had ) and tighten up the steering servo saver and i don't break anymore horns. look at the picture to see the servo saver. i had to shim out the servo about 1mm to make it work. like i said it's a big servo saver.

Hi I've recently got a warhead evo and have been having heaps of fun with it until my mate drove it into a tree at full noise..... nothing a hammer and some time couldnt fix lol.. The only problem iv'v had is that the roto start broke a screw then stripped the bevel gear and totally destroyed its self.. After going to the lhs they aren't very keen on helping as they dont sell duratrax cars... so my question is what other roto starts or pull starts can fit on the super engine.. Oh thanks to all the guys on here there is so much stuff that has been very helpful for a total novice, and save me from learning the hard way..
