when you broke in your engine you tune for top speed using the high speed needle then you adj your low speed needle?

also make sure your using a cold plug. if you tune the engine the right way and you have a cold plug try putting an extra head shim. i forgot to ask what fuel are you using?

Once you have the high speed needle set for performance keep opening up the low speed and you may need to tweek the high again. If you turn the low speed counter clockwise it will get more fuel when you let off the throttle which will cool the engine. My super pooper never gave me temp problems when I tuned it this way. The only problem I have with the old engine is that the rear bearing is worn and I have oil leaking out on the one way bearing making the roto start work like crap. That is why I replaced the engine.

The Warhead isn't my first nitro, so I had previous experience tuning engines with my Jato. I tuned it for high speed, and then low speed after break-in. I'm using O'Donnel Race 20% and using a cold Duratrax plug. The extra head shim may help, as I remember someone mentioning that before. I never got around to trying it. I actually had some monstrous 40 Series MOABS on Axial beadlocks on my 'Head, but recently reverted back to stock after finding that the supertiger wasn't pushing them well enough. I may just go ahead and replace this engine with the stimulus check that's incoming soon. What do you guys think... are there any engines out there that won't destroy my tranny? So far I've had no issues with breaking CVs, and I've put my Warhead through quite a bit of stress.

This might be a dumb question...............but why a cold plug?

I use a OS A5 plug in my engine and a you should use a medium cold plug or a cold plug in the engine. Don't use a hot plug in a big block engine. The temp of the plug controls the fireing of the engine. The hotter the plug the sooner the engine will fire when the piston is coming up to top dead center. That is why if you remove shims from the head you will get higher compression and using a hot plug will make the engine fire earlier. I new a guy who modded his engine by increasing the compression and using a hotter plug and he had detonation and it blew the botton head off the engine. So use a cold plug or a medium-cold.
