Heres a pic of my Cub,ready to go. I know the cover scheme leaves a lot to be desired but it was my first covering job. I tried. This little plane has an OS.61 FX, and it is a lot of fun.

Looks like you did a very nice job on yours. Here's my 1/4 cub with a lot of work to do yet. G38 for power.

Its coming along nicely Bud. Thank you for the compliment, infact this was my first build, and there were lessons learned, so its ok that its not perfect. Your plane is going to be SWEET! if your current progress is any indication.Keep us posted. I personally love to see pictures of others work in progress.

Just love Cubs on Floats. I've had three 1/4 Scalers so far with the last one being a Balsa USA J3 which I converted to a Super Cub and put flaps and a Quadra 41 in it!! More power than it needs I know, but I love it. Put it on Balsa USA Scale Edos with retractable water rudders and it is a picture. Can take off at 1/4 throttle or bull it out of trouble on a windy day with more throttle. Heres a pix after a happy flight!

Nice looking bird supercub man, where did you get your super cub cowl? I bought a f/glass cowl for my balsa USA cub and it is way too wide on the cheeks and it won't clear the flywheel on my G38.

Bud

Hi Bud
I get all my f/g cowls from Aeroglass. It is run by Stephen Weber, Box 185, Langton, Ont. Canada N0E 1G0 (519) 875-1533. Suggest you phone him and explain your problem and he will suggest the proper cowl. His prices are very good and the cowls are the best I have ever seen. He has a very broad selection for all the major kit manufacturers.

Looking good, Bud. Your engine looked like it was further forward than mine, and I was surprised (and pleased) to see that the cowl fit over your G-38..

Hiya Nony,
My cowl fits fine but not without having to cut the side out to clear the carb and cut the bottom out to clear the ignition wire. I sent off to fiberglass specialties for a glass cowl and thats what is in the picture. They do a nice job. I mounted the engine on the kit bulkhead and cut the bottom out and built a box on the inside to accept the stock muffler which will be coated with epoxy and heat resistint silicone. See ya over on fubar.

Supercub man, I didn't mention the cowl I bought was the super cub cowl that didn't work, I have a glass standard J3 cowl that works fine. Thanks for the info on Aeroglass.

Looks great, Bud... I chopped up the ABS cowl to fit, and will use it for a pattern for a fiberglass one. Those floats are sure looking nice.........

If I ever get those floats finished i'm sure i'll be a happy camper Nony but looking ahead at what I have to do to the other float i'm almost sorry I started them I could always send it to you and you can spend your winter drilling for rivets huh?
Think i'll work on the cross bracing today so I can unhook the fuse and start my gussets and fuse bracing.

I have sent you an E-Mail
I also have a C O F
I also live in Houston
but Can't find a good place to fly it
Maybe you care to respond and we can
join forces flying the two Cubs, somewhere.
With great difficulty I have managed to fly
it twice, both went well.
Hope to hear from you
RICK
