I started to get burnt out on flying after 15 years in the air, 10 years working at the LHS, doing the showteam thing, and teaching flying lessons. I still fly, just not as much. At last count I am up to 16 aircraft with number 17 being built and I have number 18 picked out. I still fly about once a week to every other week. I have since started doing other things that are exciting.

My other hobbies:

Boating and water skiing. I have an '01 Monterey. We take it out about every weekend during the summer. Then fishing in the spring and fall when the temps fall.

4 wheeling. I have a Raptor 660. There are plenty of places to go around here from the sand dunes to the mountains. Camping up in the mountains up a trail is a lot of fun.

Snowmobiling. I have a 96 Ultra soon to be upgraded to an '02ish 800 RMK. Nothing like flying over the snow at speeds up to 100 mph and jumping cornises. I don't think that the sport is exciting unless it can kill you.

What hobbies don't I have...I'm a certified personal trainer, so I enjoy lifting weight, running, eating healthy; but still like to have a large pizza and beer. Certified PADI SCUBA diver, play AM-A paintball, used to do some professional car audio installations but still do it for fun for other people...any others i can think of. I think thats about it right now. I really can only afford R/C or paintball at once, so right now its R/C...still have all my paintball stuff though.

My main hobby/sport is bowling. I've been bowling all my life, and I average around 200 in both of my leagues. I also used to be into handguns and shooting with my dad, though we haven't been to the range in about 6 months or so cuase we usually go flying instead. I used to be into unicycling (Yes, I can juggle too, and no I'm not a clown). I listen to metal and rock, and try to play guitar for at least 2 or 3 hours every day. I started out with RC cars and still enjoy running them, but my dad got me into planes. Right now my life is consumed primarily by bowling, guitar and planes. I'm only 16 so it helps that my dad funds most of the plane stuff. I do all the building for him, and fix his crashes, so it all works out. I still have to pay for cars which are just as expensive as planes, and probably more expensive in the long run becuase of broken parts, and maintinence. I just dropped 700 bucks on a new guitar, then another 200 on a new bowling ball within the same month. So I can't really afford to do anything right now. This is an interesting thread, keep it up.

Some cool hobbies and very talented people here!

I play guitar, I played in rock bands in my previous life (before kids), these days I jam whenever the opportunity presents itself and host a Thursday night jam in my basement studio. I've always wanted a doubleneck guitar (inspired by Jimmy Page) but didn't want anything someone else had so I designed and built my own;

WOW, I am amazed that you built all that from scratch. I doubt I could even build one of those kits you can get off of warmoth. All I can say is wow, I'm just really impressed!

All? No, I can't pretend I did, I bought the necks mostly finished, and the hardware of course, although the wiring was my own design and still a work in progreess. The two necks tend to "feed" each other harmonics and I'm considering re-wiring to a stereo jack to electrically isolate the signals for feeding separate amps for better isolation....

Yep, it's a lot of fun!!!! Love it when I'm underwater, but I think the fish are more amused than I am.. HA!! I guess its illegal to dredge down under.. Laws made by small minded lawmakers who have no idea what there talking about and don"t know a thing about dredging,, Sounds like some of the states here in the U.S. ...
