well different people like different set ups so you will get alot of different answers i personaly like lighter diff oils just cause heavy diff oils will make take away steering and make diff transfer slow and can make the truggy or buggy push. so in my ttr buggy i like 3k-5k-1k. anything heavier my ttr wont handel worth poop. now my new jammin crt i have 5k-10k-1k. but i havent ran my jammin yet so i cant tell you how it works.

That's all I was looking for was different people's opinions.

Are those numbers Front, Center, Rear or Rear, Center, Front? I've read that people use 1K in the Front Diffs.

people always do diffs front to rear and i know of no body that uses 1k in the front not sure how that would handle you wuold have to run 1k front center and probly grease in the rear to make it handle i personly wouldnt try that set up.

I was just reading in the Mayhem ST's thread Biodragen saying that Horizon told him:

Front and Rear shock oil 30wt
Front Diff 1000wt
Center Diff 7000wt
Rear Diff 5000wt

That's why I ask, so that I can get everybodies feedback and then decide what's best. I will be running a Kypsho Inferno 777 Truggy conversion with a RB .28 pull-start engine.

The assembly instructions say TCD grease for the Front, 4000# for the Center and 1000# for the Rear . That is for a Inferno 777 buggy setup though. I am thinking that a Truggy needs to have a little heavier diff lube. I am thinking 1K Front, 5K Center and 5K Rear sounds like a decent setup.

Also, the track I have to setup for is a small to medium track.

In my GS SUT, I run a Fioroni Storm Traction torsen in front, 10k center and grease in the rear diff.

According to my experiences the basis principle is that when you accelerate, the weight is taken off the front axis which is raised - and an open diff transfers most the rpm's to the front axis then. This may lead to spinning (and balooning) front tires with no grip - the power is lost. A very heavy weight oil in the center diff keeps the rpm's 50/50% between the front and rear axis and evenly shares the power between the axises. With a short chassis, this may lead to a nervous rear end. I tried a 30k oil in the center diff and didn't work on loose surfaces at all, the car ran like a 2WD. The same was true for heavy weight oils in the rear diff.

The Storm Traction diff brings up to 75% of the rpm's to the wheel that has MORE traction than the other. I haven't really tested it yet so I won't comment on it here.

Your results may vary. There is nothing a subjective as diff setup. Some love 50k, 50k, 10k.

Do your self a favor and do not run 1k diff fluid in the front of your truggy. Go 3k to 5k in the front, 7k to 10k in the center and 2k to 500 wt. in the rear. Make your adjustments from here. I have never seen a Mayhem St even get around a track with less than 30k in the center diff or the front tires balloon to the heavens under power. I have moved to 10k front 10k center and 1k in the rear of my CRT but ever vehicle is different, thr way you truck hooks up under acceleration and how much anti squat you run will greatly effect how easy your center diff dumps and allows you front wheels to balloon. This makes it hard to turn under power and to jump with your nose going sky high. Take a lot of practice time and observe your truck ask for help and make small changes until the thing handles the way you like it. Get used to the nasty diff fluid because you will be playing in it often.
