I already did show my UFO flying in post #176! Nope. My DF couldn't stand to lift any more weight.

Here is a lighting test of the madean chaser light addition with my mods added to my alu-tweety X-3D X-UFO ... it actually fit perfectly inside with some coaxing. I couldn't flight test it yet ... too windy outside ... but the 20g extra weight is lighter than the FlyCamOne camera ... so it shouldn't be a problem lifting it.

That was really cool! Can you slow the chase rate down? Where was that music from?

Thanx ...
I think that was the slowest setting (I wanted it a little slower too) ... but you can speed it up ... the music is a live concert excerpt of The Cybermen by Murry Gold from the great new Doctor Who 2005 series

I'm sure this has been thought of before, but it's easy to mount a 9V battery near the C.G., even on the SAVS. A strip of Velcro is attached to the battery & open space on top of the lower board. A cheap battery might be better because it's lighter, and the LEDs don't use much power. A small strip of Velcro on the back of the 9V plug secures it when not being used.

BB_DF, are you aware of the regulated multipin 5v tap underneath the flight board providing power from the lipo? The 9v is alot of unnecessary weight to be carrying.

Thanks, I'll look for it. I guess it's documented on the Spectrolutions web site. Is that a standard connector I can get in a hobby shop? I can use that space now to carry small animals .

It's the long multi-pin next the 3 pin underneath the flight board. You can get the pre-made adapter from DFI or get a pinout diagram and do it yourself. I like the custom adapter myself because it has standard connectors that fit accessories. The third wire is the control wire for servos and accessories.

Kokomiko,
Thanks. Any reason to pull the 5V off the long connector rather than the short one?

I'm not sure but I think the 3 pin is 11.1v. You may want to put a meter on it. Other than that, you can use accessories like servos and nav lights while using the camera system.

The "cam" 3-pin connector and the first 3 pins on the multi connecter are actually the same.
+5V - this is a regulated 5V source used with the ground pin
Vbat - this is unregaluted battery voltage used with the ground pin , 11,1V (not sure if the voltage equals the battery power...and maybe there is not the restriction to the 150/250mA limit as on the +5V...)
GND - Ground = negative battery terminal

For lights use +5V and GND on the multipin so you still can connect your cam on the 3 pin
