hi john,
got to thinking after we got off the phone yesterday about have you ever considered striking a deal w/ a wing bag company or making your own. on the bigger models your wings are bigger than most and i would imagine that most giant guys have bags for their planes , so you could possibly keep them from going to your competitors for bags.
ps. sent an e-mail to get on the list for the 40% yak,
see ya,
steve

Steve since you got on the list for the 40% yak does that mean you are not doing a big Extra? I was hoping to see you around some early next year and check one of those big beasts out. From the way it sounds I will have two Yaks on the board sometime in Jan. Hope to have one done for Toledo and the other shortly there after.

hi chris,
your correct ..i'm not going to do the extra...i really have to give john some credit , he basically talked me OUT of doing a $2500.00 extra. i called him yesterday w/ my credit card # and he started asking my what i sort of was expecting out of the plane, i told him mostly 3d stuff then he began to warn me about what type of abuse he thought the airframe could take. i have had a couple other aerotech edges (and liked them very much) so john already knew what i was expecting but he was worried i'd sink a ton of money into something that he thought was more of a "novelty".
i told him i thought his yak was by far the best looking one i had seen so he asked if i would rather get on the list for that one and i did. i have been checking into doing the hempel edge as my big project. i have seen blaine's fly many times so i know it can withstand some abuse but not like a 40%er. a big problem is that all these big planes take so long to get, especially from europe, btw...i saw your post on the gear , if i understood john correctly he has another gear (3rd one) that he says is the best looking, supposed to be a vid coming i think,
are you keeping your ultimates too?
steve

Yeah going to keep the Ulti's going and got a 160 Champ and cans for the Yak. Going to try to keep this one light. Shooting for 36lbs RTF. We have some work ahead of us but it can be done. I agree it is the best looking Yak on the market with full round fuse. This will be my first Aerotech build but from what I have seen from your planes a couple other peoples kits should go quick and fly well. For the Gear I am going to go with the hoop. I only saw that he had two gears but I am sure that all that will be finallized prior to the kit shipping.

Hello,

Im sending some info to another wing bag company next week to offer them the sizes we need. I wish I had more time to invest but the kits and the 50cc ARF's are a 12 hour a day job. You guys have a great Christmas and ILL be back next week full at it.

Thanks
John

Using the competitions bags on my 40% Yak, the red bull one on John's site, they fit like a glove. Better than OJ's!
