Not r/c.

I was just listening to "Performance Today" on NPR. The announcer said "Corelli's Christrmas Concerto was published after his death, but authorities think it was written before."

Just had to pass that one on.

Bill.

Performance Today, yes. The Met Opera when in season. Once in a while I'll listen to All Things Considered, but only to see what the Liberals, Socialists, Pinkos, Fellow Travellers, Democrats, and outright Communists are up to.

Bill.

Ex:

"Wait, Wait! Don't tell me," "Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers," all the Saturday shows are sophomoric at best, most of their alleged humor is around fifth grade level. Garrison Kiellor is better, but he's still "Blech," about like eating unsalted Pablum. I must admit I try to catch his annual "Joke Show," but in the last few years he's been getting a bit raw in his humor.

On the other hand, Nancy Wilson's "Jazz Profiles" is good, and don't forget "Live From the Landing" and the doyenne of jazz pianists, Marian McPartland's "Piano Jazz." And the aforementioned "Performance Today."

There are some good shows, and some stinkeroos. You just have to pick and choose.

Bill.

Personally and from the under forty crowd I like NPR. I even send my local station a few $ every year. Mr. Robison, maybe like the clasics I will only appreciate you after you are gone.

Well, here I am in Florida, and I'm a "Member" of WHRO in Norfolk Virginia. They get my bucks every year.

They have two broadcast stations, WHRO is classical and WHRV is the NPR crap. They also have three channels streaming on the web, WHRO and WHRV naturally, and "The 1920s Network" for lovers of older pop music. There is a fourth channel, service to the blind.

http://www.whro.org/home/

Give them a try. Selection in the upper left of the home page. Broadband is necessary of course.

Bill.
