Over the summer, my rush met up with a street drain and the front end was damaged. I'm looking to fix the damage now. The front arms and the turnbuckles. I've found all the parts on Tower. My question is are aluminum equivalents (the kind found at new era) worth the money? For that matter, is the HPI titanium turnbuckle set a worthwhile upgrade? This is my first nitro car and I just use it for bashing.

thanks

i would get aluminum parts because you never know when thats gonna happen again. they are a lot stronger than the plastic parts. go for it.

The only problem with the aluminum ones is that they will bend before they break, and when you try to bend them back, they become much weaker and prone to breaking, and you also run the risk of breaking something else (steering knuckle, shock tower, bulkhead) because the aluminum is so much stronger. if you're going to go aluminum, go all aluminum, and remember, aluminum is heavier than plastic, so don't weigh your truck down too much. if you're strictly racing, plastic is better (lighter), if your truck is a shelf queen, alu. is better (looks good), but for bashing, either will be fine IMO

Thanks for your opinion. i'm going with the plastic front arms, steel hinge pin set, and the hpi titanium turnbuckle set. it's my first truck and it's used mostly for bashing. one day i would like to buy/build my own rc vehicle that's larger, can carry reasonable weight, and more rugged than the Baja 5b. I guess that's describing more of a battlebot or military rov but more inclined for dirt and speed.
