this is the frustrating part...i wish i could take all of you here and let you see where i've been driving my truck...TAKE IT EASY...???? how much easier can i take it....... do you think i WANT to keep breaking it....that's is all i have been doing the last 2 times after i fixed it was driving it easy....i am not one that has the money to bash on this truck i have a lot of other things to save for...and i don't bash on this truck or drive it excessive or overly hard... yesterday after fixing it yet again...my whole focus was to just take it out in an open field with no obstructions or curbs and/or land differences...just able to drive it flat round and round with a little dirt flyin....the frustrating part is trying to get you guys to understand...i couldn't possibly drive this any easier unless you want me to go 2 mph...???? I didn't buy a truck to bash on...just have fun...I'm not in it to race...or jump or be a speed demon...I have a 5 yr old son...my main focus was to have something for him and i to do together...you should have seen his eyes when i first got this truck talk about innocent excitement...but now he comes over he's just like "dad, fix your truck..." "dad, is your truck fixed yet" or "Lynn, fix my dad's truck"...................................and We still haven't spent more then 30 minutes out in one time...even in a field with this.............................i must just have gotten the manufacturing reject of all trucks....it must have been on the very bottom, of bottom of bottom of bottom, in the right hand corner with cob webs...dusted off and given to me..........cuz all it's been is a money pit..if any one has seen the movie money pit...that's what my truck has been...take a truck that should work in all convensional purposes....but doesn't...........again i don't know how to tell you guys other then to say...not once have I done anything outrageous or crazy....that never was my purpose in buying this truck.....ha ha ha jokes on me. 400 dollar joke.

and as far as next time i fix it i should run it easier...... then I guess that would mean I should go to fedex, wrap it in bubble wrap, rent out the stadium, wrap it in bubble wrap...and THEN my truck MIGHT come out with no breakage..?? at 1/2 throttle... maybe??

sorry bro, sounds like you should either call redcat and explain whats going on or just get out of the hobby. I really found these things always seem to break, weather you spend 200 or 500 for the rc. car, truck plane or boat. you do need to have deep pockets sometimes too. you should be able to enjoy a few hours of fun without something breaking too. i am very suprised that redcat didnt reply, they were here for a while. I find it a little upsetting. I did buy a kyosho fw-05 from my lhs after i broke it in i was racing and found it to be a little strange feeling, i brought it back for him to look at and my one was bearing was bad, he sold me a new one and i spent abot 2 hours replacing it. i was a little upset at first but hey, he didnt know if i was lying and for 15 bucks who care.

maybe go to the back yard with a sledge hammer and smash it in a thousand pieces, pack it up in a box send it back to redcat with a nicely written letter and go to the lhs and buy a new traxxas revo. i must admit though i find it hard to believe that your were driving it real easy and went thru $150 in parts (i took away $50 for shipping). Thats kinda like saying i was run over by a bus in my bathroom.

it's not that i propose that they do anything...but when I see darin on the forum...and not say anything...to either support or oppose the truck he sells, it makes me wonder how much confidence he himself has in it......he's the one selling these trucks and he comes on the forum and has nothing to say.....? that shows how much he believes in them.

you did say you used the truck for one hour since you've had it and it cost you over $400 to use it, i was assuming that you paid $200 for it, paid $150 for parts and the other $50 for the shipping of the parts as you said the $ amount was for the parts and shipping. I find it very hard to believe that you used the truck for 1 hour in total in 2 months and spent over $150 in parts and you were driving it real easy or even semi easy. i spent $16 on a body(the bodys are garbage) and $7 for a traxxas clutch spring and shoes. i have had the truck for over a month, my son and i have jumped sand dunes, i hit a curb, my son rolled it about 8 times in the street at about 25mph, and no real damage except the body. i have put about 15 tanks of fuel thru it about 5-6 hours of driving time on it and no problems. HMMMMMMMMMM wonder what i am doing wrong. Have you had the same part break twice??? Did you replace it more than twice??? Do ya think redcat was waiting for you to call so they can send you their inferior parts from the inferior parts corner right next to the inferior truck corner???? Be a man, call the phone number on the website and see if you can clear it up with the company, if not either fix it or throw it in the garbage can and go buy another truck from another company or start flying kites.

Well, in Darins defense and Redcats. Maybe, just maybe, he is sorting through all the "stuff" and trying to come up with the best possible solution, that or given your tone of your posts there is nothing Darin, or any Redcat dealer (like myself) could say that would be satifactory to you. This is just my opinion by your posts. I am in no way representing anyone at Redcat Racing. I am only giving my opinions, take them for what they are worth.

You say, and I quote "it's not that i propose that they do anything.... By stating this, even you do not know what the solution is or what you would like it to be. You have not helped your situation by "calling them out" all that has done is make a somewhat bad situation worse.

I do know that Redcat Racing grew at a rate NOBODY expected. Darin is doing things to rectify thses situations but these things take time. You cannot simply put bodies in there and start having them know what they are doing. Training takes time. Trust me, if he filled the phones with people that had no idea what they were doing that would be a cause of griping too.

Now, IF you had dealt with a Redcat Racing dealer, I bet you would have gotten a little better service. I am only saying this because Redcat is better suited to deal with dealers than end users. No excuses, just the way it is.

I have always found it better to deal with a local dealer than over the internet/mail-order. I like to have a person to "go and gripe to". The local dealers are more apt to satisfy your needs one-on-one than the importer.

Just my .02 and not worth that...

well ehroof...................that's cool......i'm glad you're truck has RAN soooo great..... did you read the part that I've had the truck for almost FOUR months...LOL... yea some parts have broke more then once, obviously they are WEAK... and yes I have talked FIRST hand with the company...do you not know who Darin is that I keep referring to ??? he's the man that is representing redcat.... that's why I keep asking him to post... we've been in contact with eachother..and now he won't post.... you guys act like I've had my truck for a week and i'm whining and ****ing about it....i've had this for almost 4 months...and done nothing but just try to play with it, I've been in contact with darin and taken it to my lhs..almost been laughed out of there because they've never seen something like this and they don't carry parts for it....... I have been laughed at by my friends who have better trucks...and you all talk like I haven't done all the things you suggest...i've been on this board alone since january...done all the suggestions by others... taken my truck to experienced friends and the lhs..... basically all i've been told is it sounds good, starts good but is extremely weak...........but yes...... I bought the truck and the starter pack which (with shipping and handling was 260 bucks) and since then I have broken the truck 3 times.. (the three times I've taken it out) if you are NOT new to the boards you probably know that i've posted many times and have posted every time it's broke and have even tried to sell the truck.... and yes after shipping it's cost roughly 50 to 60 dollars each of the 3 times it's broken for me to fix it...so add it up....it IS OVER 400 bucks.... so thanks.

ScottHarp thanks for your 2 cents...but first off, yes I bought this offline..and the dealer I bought this from didn't want anything to do with the problems...so then I turned to darin and yea at first he was VERY supportive I even posted on here a couple of thank you's to darin and his team for helping and being there but it's been months since he's been here to help those that are driving his trucks and as far as local sellers, here where I live...they have never even heard of redcat..and when I showed them my truck...they were like "what is that?" So of course I'd love to as you say "have a person to go and gripe to" but here in washington state...they don't even know what a REDCAT is......so my person to go and gripe to is THIS BOARD...hello...i'm not bashing on anyone...you say i like to have a place to go and gripe to so WHERE DO YOU PROPOSE I DO THAT?? other then this board where maybe other's are having the same issues or similar that might understand where I'm coming from, last time i checked this was free country i can say what i want about redcat, i'm not degrading or bashing anyone in particular... so what is the big deal??? isn't that what this board is for, or is it only if you have GOOD things to say about the trucks..??

unplug servo and inspect for short or dirt.

replug servo and see if works. If not don't worry a new throtle servo is pretty cheap @ 15 bucks with shiping on tower

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXH288&P=ML

that is the one i use and it works just fine.

ok cool, i did unplug the servo once already and changed out the batteries and it work again but for all of maybe 2-3 minutes afterwards so i think if must be in the servo itself.

i was looking just replacing everything though with a new futaba radio 2ph 2-channel system

that's just it, there's nothing that can be done. I've done what I thought I was supposed to do, gotten help, gone easy.... been careful...there's nothing that can be done....i just want to express how i feel you you all act like i'm not allowed to express how i feel..... Sure I'd love for my truck to be replaced with a buggy, but that's not gonna happen...i'm not an idiot, but it seems like if you don't have the best of things to say about the truck, then you just better shut up on this board..... seems a little bias to me.

One thing you all should remember this board is for everyone, not just the supporters and lovers of redcat....if I'm not happy then yea i should be able to say that...i'm not saying anything about anyone...i don't like the truck..big deal... i have that right. that's what a board is for. if you can't handle that then too damn bad...i DON'T have to feel the same as you, i haven't had the same experience as you, and you haven't gone through with your truck what I have with mine, until you do then don't say anything...... so again....i'm only saying i don't like this truck i have that right. If any of you were in my place trying what i've tried and doing what i've done... you'd be frustrated too....... you all want to defend and make excuses that's not my point....i've been easy on it...i've gotten professional help with it, i've drove it carefully and yet still it's broken..... stop telling me i'm not allowed to state my opinion...for all those lovin' the trucks i don't try and tell you not to love it....get off it.

no just tireing of hearing the same negative stuff rehashed...it seems that unfortunately you are haveing the worst probs with the product.
If your truck is fixed run it again and if you, excuse me if it breaks again ebay it and be done with it.
I'm sorry you have lost such hope for a hobby/product that will always need upkeep and replacements regardless if parts are made out of plastic or alloys.
Any input/opinion is welcome...but it's kinda hard to not get bent out of shape about all the negative when so many others aren't experienceing it.
