Hi, all. Ive just downloaded this T-rex SE for Reflex XTR from www.rc-sim.de, but i've read on THE OTHER forum that it (the model) isn't very realistic. Can anyone tell me what 'aspects' need to be 'tweeked' to make if fly more like a real Rex? I'll be using 430L motor and 25A ESC.
Thanks.

Ivan Woods - thanks for the reply. Can you please post the internal diamensions of your case?

Thanks again....ICE

Thanks for the response Edge-Pilot. I'm sure I'll like it, I've had the #4 for a couple months now and fly it every day. well when I'm not waiting on parts, Like I am right now. that sucks.

Waiting on parts is the worst. I have a total of 5 heli's so we have quite the stock of new parts on the wall. I hated waiting for them so much I order extras all the time of stuff we break and put it on my wall. That way waiting time is only when I break a rare parts. Trex parts are easy to stick on the wall, unfortunely the Raptor 90SE parts are alittle harder on the wallet to carry to many extras.

I do have some parts on hand, but not the right ones. Once I get my Rex together I'll hand down the #4 to my 10 year old son.
Sorry, I'll stay on track.

A quick question.
II have a T-rex xl with a mega motor and CC35. I set up the governor mode per the article at T-rex tuning. I have a 2400 rpm at zero collective but at +\- 10 it drops to 2200. I assume that my motor is not strong enough to spin 2400 at full collective. Should I leave it alone or drop one or two degrees of pitch to maintain head speed. The article says that the rpm's should stay within a 100. It flies great but I am not sure which setting will produce optimum power at full collective.

Zacko, the V2 is good, but the head and tail designs are not as smooth as an XL and it doesn't carry thr 325mm blades due to the previously stated shorter boom. Also, does not come in CDE(3 point swash linkage set-up). A V2 is still very capable, but it is probably easier to sell and buy an XL as you see fit. Had one, and opted for the XL.
Iceman101, it is 10"x26" and 8" tall...case dimensions.
ckoelliker, what pinion/tooth count are you running? Sounds like you can drop a tooth or two to get it where you need. Most ESC's governor mode does not hold a steady rpm...unless you opt for a Kontronik Jazz or something like it. Are you in St. Simoms Island? I was up there a while back and saw a hobby store right by the airport...think it was called Grays Hobboes or something like that. Been over 3 years ago.

I Have a 13 tooth pinon on the motor. The main drive gear is stock. Should I raise or lower the pinon to get more head speed? Yeah that hobby shop has been closed for a while. I have been buying all my parts for the t-rex and blade cp from Hodge's Hobbies. If I call them before two o'clock I will receive it the next day.

I have always been told NOT to use the bulit in govenors for micro helis. We use the throttle curve mode to keep ours correct. Takes a while to setup but once its done your good to go. With the Align 430 we can sustain 2400 headspeed with ease, even at 10 degrees pitch. We are also using the 13 tooth pinion.

Only esc with a worthy governor is the Kontroniks Jazz, every other one does not hold true.

I think it is in Americus, Ga. They have a web site but I always call. Mac Hodges has been in a lot of the RC magazines. He sponsors a lot of large events at his flying site. I think his hobby shop sort of grew out of his flying club.

Txaggie08, how did the programming go on the ESC? Doe the E-sky have a digital mode? If so then a digital servo is the answer. if not, then use an HS-56 by Hitec. Hope that answers the question.
ckoelliker, I usually use Rchover, but Graves RC in Orlando has it where if you order by 2pm EST, it will ship same day...Fed-Ex Ground in my case (living in same state) is next day.

well.....i dont know if it has a digi mode. Reason i asked i have a digital servo. The Gyro came with no driections and i cant find them online(someone at my local club thinks they might have a set.....)

I think i have the ESC programmed right, as ive gotten the heli to lift partialy off at a little over half stick, but im having problems with ti pitching over(i had a linkage setup wrong...got that fixed) and the gyro letting it spin. I guess ill have to find an hs-56 to use until i can get the 401 gyro i was supposed to(the guy i bought it from screwed me over)
