I believe it, the new 110's are awesome engines!

The two 110FZ's on my BlackWidow tach right at 10,000 RPM with 15x8 APCs on 30%, not really enough prop for them. So I switched to 13.8x10 APC 4-blades which pull over 9000, and my 23 lb plane is still a rocket with more vertical than I know what to do with.

And after a year of flying them on different planes, I have never had a dead-stick (or in twin-talk, a flameout) on either engine.

Hummm.... some hair raising FZ RPM numbers there.
I have a .91 FZ... smaller, but no way it would be turning a 14x8 at those high 9's!
My 1.20FZ wouldn't turn a 14x12 at those numbers
My 1.40FZ turns a 16x10 at about 9. All on 30%.
I don't know where the rocket numbers come from... I'm not saying folks are lying... I truely think that what they're seeing... down to the headyness of a YS honeymoon period? Well never know. Good engines anyway...Ive been using them almost exclusively for several years.
Yes they have a remarkable throttle respones but they're not necessarily alone in the area.... I have an old Enya .41 4-stroke that also displays quite a remarkable throttle response using an old airbleed carb!

I'm hoping to pickup a Enya 41 4-S soon. I know they're still made, but not being sold in the US. Enya makes the best carbs going though!

Yes, I got mine, must be at least 8 years ago... I think it even discontinued then!
It's still powering a modified Lanair tiny Extra 325 orginaly designed for a .15-.25 2-stroke. I extented the body at the rear a couple of extra inches and moved the tail back to improve the tracking and off set the weight of the engine. It runs using an APC 11x7 and this silly little "party plane" has the best power to weight ratio of any plane I've flown. You can pull enormous, spot in the sky loops that just keep accelerating and accelerating... with a type of after burner effect.
I wish my pattern planes could do that.

It's a lovely little jewel of an engine.

This store in the UK is still selling them, and it has the newer 2-needle carb. I have never had a 2-needle Enya so I don't know if it is as good as the G-type carbs, but I'd like to find out. I'll get one eventually.

my "hair raising" 14-10 rpm numbers is even made on just 25% nitro and 20% oil (9% synth 11% castor) I suspect rpm`s would go past 10000 if I could get a hold of some 30% nitro 24% synth helifuel. I will try to get a 14-12 but I think they are not available in norway

I get about 9500 with an APC 14x10 on my 1.10 on 20/20 fuel. Asmund, yours seems to be an exceptional engine.

yes it seems so but then again I have as usual been thinkering a little with my engine. I have removed the baffle and drilled the outlet of the muffler to 8mm. this gave me some more rpm`s, and it still runs very quiet.

Two of my old YS .91AC consistently peak out at 9600 rpm with MA 14x10 Scimitar on Powermaster YS 20/20 fuel and straight pipe (no muffler). I'm flying them at 9300 rpm.

I'm running a straight pipe too - the genuine YS 1.20 header pipe with no muffler.

I would be interesting to see what you get with an APC 14x10, as different brands and models of prop of the same nominal diameter/pitch can impose very different loads on the engine.

I am a warbird racer in California and own a YS .91, YS 1.10 and 3 Saito 1.00s. I fly World 57"
P-51s. I run an APC 12x12N on the YS.91 an 13x13N on the YS 1.10. I run an APC 13x10 on the Saito 1.00. Powermaster 20:20 fuel is use on all engines.

I did a comparison on the three engines with a 12x12N prop. Results as follows:

YS .91 10,300 rpm
YS 1.10 11,200 rpm
Saito 1.00 10,800 rpm

I prefer the Saito engines because there is less messing with them . You set them and they stay. Yes the YS engines are more powerful and guys love them and don't mind messing with them. There are guys who love Lucas and old British sports cars also!
