Acebusa, that blue hub that the blade grips screw into.... I am having trouble getting mine to function properly. Ther is one screw, 2 bearings, and a blade grip. The large bearing stays captive on the inside of the blade grip. The screw goes through the small bearing inside the grip. It is then tightened down until the small bearing is pressed tight against the blue hub. All seems well, but when I pull on the blade grip, or spin the blades up, the little bearing slides farther into the blade grip and the grips pop out about 1/8 of an inch. now the grip control rod arms are rubbing against the control rods that go around the grips to the swash plate. Am I missing a spacer that goes inside the grips? I can't figure out what is going on here. This is on a Walkera 22e by the way. I don't know if I am making any sense here.

So the blade grip as play when you push or pull on it, I think that is what you are saying, Is it the same on both sides? The way it is set up, There is a bearing that sets in each side of the blade grip, The out side bearing slides through the long end of the blade grip and rests on against a shoulder in the grip, The other bearing goes on the other side and rest against the same shoulder on the opposite side and sets flush with the outside of the grip, Before you insert the screw to hold it on there is a small washer that must be installed. You are either missing the little washer, the bearing is broken and the inner race is broken on one of the bearings, the inside of the blade grip is broken or worn, the screw is not threading in all the way (check this with the blade grip off, screw it in see if it goes all the way in. Or the blue part is machined too long, and is a factory defect, it can be shimmed, and repaired, but you must first find the problem.

One of my blade grips was loose the other day (in/out movement). I removed the blade, pushed the grip on all the way, and tightened the allen bolt. Problem fixed !!! Probably the same with yours I bet... Dennis (putting my heli back to new again) and again, and again...

I flew mine today, It was awesome, It was really solid on the tail, and flew smoother than it ever has! I just need to work on the trims, and the rudder a little more, I had it flying good, but I had to cheat it with the trims on the tx. Mike I like to place my blade order. I flew it with the stock blades and it turned kinda slow, I could have sped it up with the travel of the servos, but without changing anything, I put on my cf blades, and wow! It was way more responsive! This is starting to pay off.

By responsive, do you mean easier to handle, or even wilder ??? How is your receiver mounted by the way ? Flat or on it's side ??? I keep asking this, but can't seem to get an answer form anyone... Mine is on the side, but the exploded shows it flat... Dennis

Easier to handle for some, and wilder for others, I mean it turns quicker, so if the wind takes it left instead of a delay you began to stick right, and it is an instant movement, so this helps with quick countering of the wind, and turning. My reciever on my 22E was mounted on its side, however my new one (gws) has to be mounted on the side as well, when it was horizonal ( laying on its back) it caused the tail to spin out of control, the same thing happened when I mounted it on the wrong side, It caused the gyro to counter in the wrong direction, so I had to flip the gyro 180 on its other side before it would work. This gyro if the throttle stick is off, I can put it on my 360 swivel plate mount, and push the tail to the right, and the tail will automaticly come on and counter the action, If I push it left no action will be taken, So when it was flipped on the wrong side, when I pushed left the motor came on and spun the tail left even faster, and faster out of control, So You can probibly check yours with It mounted on a swivel stand, If it doesent counter with no trottle, Try a little throttle, and than push the tail see if it corrects the tail in the correct direction.

No, mine seems to be fine, I just couldn't figure out why the receiver/gyro is the only thing showing on the exploded view, in the wrong position. Weird to say the least...

Hope everything falls together for you, I am just glad to have mine back in the air, I just need a little more stick time to get it dialed in. I have been really busy this pass month, and the next couple of weeks, but when It settles down, I will get to fly alot more, and post the pictures I havent had time to post. I really am likeing the direct drive tail motor upgrade, Is the Vnr3D a gear tail or direct drive?

Geared, with seperate motor... Mine is like new again with the exception of a little main mast bearing slop (not good), and a little side to side between the see saw and the control tray (will take care of that before testing begins). As soon as the parts come available, im changin all the main mast bearings. I want this machine to be nice and tight when I wad it up. LOL Then at least, people will say that it sounded smooth before dumb thumbs munched it. LOL Im going to be looking into getting some high quality bearings from Boca if they can match em up by size. I think my machine deserves the best bearings I can find, after what I have been doing to it. Besides, the tighter it is, the easier it will fly, and the smoother it will sound, and with that will come less wear, vibration, and maintainance. Dennis

Whew !!! Now that I have had a chance to calm down a little, lets recap my discoveries... First of all, if the little pitch control arms on your see saw have any side to side play at all, remelt the retainer on tighter so the arm is nice and tight. This make all the difference in the world when it comes to keeping your VNR3D under control, especially if your a newbie like me. LOL
Next, check to see if you can move your flybar back and forth, whereas there is too much clearance between the control tray and the ends of the see saw. To remedy this, take 2 little blade grip washers and install 1 on each end. This keeps the flybar centered with the rotor head, and puts the iceing on the cake. Now take your heli out and give it a try. You will not beleive the difference !!! Next, throw away the stock blades, or use them to stir paint (as I have read someone else post), and buy some carbon fiber blades. That way, if you should knock your heli off a stool as I did earlier, your brand new $14.00 blades won't have a dent in the middle of them. LOL
Now, Im going to take my transmitter apart and find out why the sticks make clicking noises. My guess would be that a couple of the pots (kinda like volume controls) are loose and the clicking im hearing is the mounts clicking against the screws that are supposed to be tight. I'll let ya know about that in a while.
Beleive it or not, my little VNR3D handles just as easily as the heli's on my G2 Real Flight Simulator now !!! Im not kidding !!! Get er done !!! Dennis

I definately need to get some carbon fiber blades. I crashed yesterday and had a boom strike. I replaced my boom earlier with a carbon fiber kite spar when I broke it before. The kite spar is exactly the same diameter as the stock boom. This time when I had a boom strike there was no damage to the boom at all but it wasted my rotor blades. Also my tail blade, gear and bearing went flying.. I found the blade and gear but lost the bearing...looks like I'm placing another order.

I found my tail bearing!! It was about 50 ft from the crash site on my driveway.. I should be getting some blades tomorrow (already ordered) Those will be my last foamy blades Placing an order for my carbon fiber blades tomorrow.

Ace -- good call on the set screw on blue aluminum hub cause heli to suddenly fly up.. I tightened earlier and used locktite but I didn't pay attention where it was on the flat spot.. I bet thats what happened.. I bet the hub suddenly slid to the top of the flat spot and caused the blade pitch to suddenly increase..

Dennis,

I have been reading your posts regarding you progress!

OUTSTANDING!!!

I am glad things are working out for you now.

I am also impressed by your increasing attention to detail and to making things perfect as you re-assemble. This will serve you well also.

The more perfect you make the machine, the better it will fly.

Please continue to keep us posted!!!

Ace,

Sounds like you have the new radio dialed in. That is great!

Im loving it, Going to all seperates seems to give it great stability, I also like all the functions of the dx6 and now that I get to use them in flight, it is worth the money for the upgrades! Thanks for your help.

Well guys, it has been a real learning experience. It would have been nice if the first time I assembled a see saw, I got the arms on good and tight, but I just slid the arm and retainer on and melted it down. I don't think I even checked it for side play. Then I went crashing, over and over again with that see saw being most of the cause. Luckily, I crashed real hard and broke that see saw, and thats when I made the discovery. That's when I decided to get real picky, and put the washers between the control tray and see saw. Boy was that a terrible fit !!! What a difference it makes when everything is nice and snug. And I thought these heli's were just real wild. LOL They sure are when there loose !!! Wow !!! Im real glad I gave it that one last shot. Thanks guys, it's because of you guys telling me not to give up yet, that im sittin here all happy, cause I can actually hoover my heli.... your the best !!! Dennis

I lost my left leg from the knee down on a 750 Honda back in 1976. That's why I ride a VW Trike these days... No kick stand needed, and reverse !!! I can throw my Heli and my Revo in my little trailer and go crashing. LOL Once again, by tonite, my Heli will look like new again... Seems like I have lived this moment over and over again. Im either nuts, or im stuck in a time warp. Nobody crases this much... Dennis
