Well, Im glad to see that your still riding even though you got injured on your honda, that kind of commitment explains why you are so persistent at flying your heli, and it seems to be paying off, Before too long you will be doing tricks never before tried by others!

Never tried by others ??? I don't know about that, but I would love to see the damm thing fly for a change... I figure my best plan of attack for that show, is to take it out to an open area, and wring it out like I do the heli's on the simulator. After I fly it around a little, maybe I won't be so afraid of it, and then I can worry about a soft landing when I done. This nonsense of trying to hoover between the house and the pickups is not working out too good. That sucker needs to fly !!! Now, when I do this, and if i get it back in one piece, the party will start promptly at 8pm. LOL Dennis (Im thru crashing dammit)

replacement parts arrived today and i put the 22e back together.
(on a side note, i noticed the stock parts have 22d stamped on them?)

everything seems to be adjusted correctly but when i s-l-o-w-l-y spin her up the main blade seems to pitch and hit the tail boom. one time it hit hard enough to dent the main blade a little and put a nick in it. (see picture)

but when i spin it up a bit faster (so the centrifugal force keeps the blades out) it spins fine and the blades track well and balanced.

it did not do this before the crash and i'm wondering if i missed something - any suggestions?

I don't see how the blades can do that unless you had a little negetive pitch in there. Dennis

Maybe the blades are too loose in the grips... so they swing down under the initial torque of the head.

Well, I don't use the 3D yet, and I always have a little positive pitch, even at no throttle. Thats the way I like it... incorrect or not, just a few degree's though...

thanks all for the ideas. out of curiosity - do the main blades ever come in contact with the boom on any of your helis?

in the crash i broke off one of the two slim metal posts in the t_assembly (see yellow)

is there supposed to be a gap at the t_assembly? (see red)

Thats the see saw holder guides. They both need to be there... The gap changes as the pitch is changed. I see at rest, mine has about 1/16" gap, but Im not done setting up my head. I will do that tonite. You do need to get that other pin though... make sure the other one is straight also.... I have twisted a few up good, and had to buy the whole head block to get them. Didn't have nutin to make em out of (right diameter) Dennis

thanks all for the suggestions - it lead me down to the t-connect.

with the main blades removed i also loosened the screw holding the t-connect to the main shaft.
with the free play i rotated the main blade holder until the were both horizontal, then i tightened the screw.
after i put the main blades back on, it no longer makes contact with the boom during s-l-o-w spin up.

now, for more sim time while the batteries charge...

Anyone know where I can get the 2 fly bar bearings (noted as #60 on the assembly plan). I was able to get everything that I needed from RC&ME, but the bearings were not included and he doesn't have them.

g3 sim users:

i just got my hands on the blade cp for the g3 sim.

it seem to react realistic to my 22e moreso than the other models available on the sim - what are you flying?

hi everybody. I got another problem with my Walkera 22E. After times of enjoying FMS, I heard some hissing sound inside the transmitter. after that, i test my trasmitter with my helicopter and now the heli is not working properly. Forward/Aft and Left/Right seems to be ok but while increasing the throttle only the tail motor works- no input to the main motor at all. Any suggestion on how to test my transmitter? I retest it again with the FMS and it is working properly. BTW I am using the SmartPropo plus interface. Also, I noticed a sudden drift of power from the transmitter. In less than 2 minutes after using new battery, from full bar to 2 bar on power meter of the transmitter. Any suggestion which part inside the transmitter was damage? or how can I check if the main motor and main motor circuit in my heli has no problem at all? -- thx

I would carefully take the TX apart and look for something touching something it's not supposed to. Could a child of maybe put something in the power jack hole ? Just an idea. Make sure the batt is plugged in good inside the batt door. Still thinkin...

Whatever is draining your battery so fast should be getting pretty hot. If something inside gets warm to the touch, you are probably close to the problem area. Does anything smell burned inside?

I would make them keep replacing it until they get it right. It's the principal... Or just get a good Futaba receiver and a seperate gyro and quit screwing around. With all the problems with bad receivers that I have been hearing about, im surprized their even in business. I have never gotten a bad Futaba receiver for the planes....

Well, I recieved my 22e in the post yesterday.

I was in the process of setting it up (getting the blades tacking correctly etc)

I had it at about 25% thrittle on the ground, the thing just exploded. The main blades and tail blades are smashed, the tail shaft holder broke, the main gear holder, and just about every servo arm.

It hard to tell what was cause and what was effect, but it seems one of the servo arms might of busted, and the mail blades hit the tail rotor - causing the rest of the damage.

I'm not sure where to go from here, or if its repairable, or if the retailer has any responsibility towards me.

Safe to say, Im not a happy man.

I had a problem with one of the servos on my 22e one time. The collective servo freaked out and twisted all the way around until the swash plate was bound to the max, and then broke. I troubleshot it to a faulty control pot. inside the servo. Luckily I wasn't spun up at the time or it might have been something like you experienced. The servos are terrible.

If you followed the instructions, and it did that when you spooled it up, they owe you a replacement for sure. Dennis

sounds like the 22e is a very cheap and nasty product , maybe it should be a model you build and put in the cabinet and hope it does not fall apart while in there.

I went over the heli - looked like a pretty good machine for the price. I was looking forward to spending a little longer with it than 15 minutes though :-)

I dont like my chances with any sort of replacement, it was purchased off ebay.
