So far I can do an inch off the ground. As i increase throttle she swings left then right very fast - can't let the controls go for a moment. I try to keep up with the speed but CRASH.... darn here goes another blade holder.

Im back from flordia, I crashed in one of my events, It sucked worse than crashin my heli, but happened just as fast! Oh and in front of 10,000 fans, Oh well, least I survived, Anyway, as far as the viberation issue, the only thing I see that may cause a problem is if the blades are so tight in the grip that they cant straighten out correctly when it spools up. I also found if they are too loose, they will swing back on wind up and throw it out of balance. I had the same problem with mine, and just played with the tracking, and the tention on the blade screw holding on the blade, Another time my blades looked balanced when I pulled them off but I got figured they must be off, so I just picked a random blade, and started to add a little piece of tape, and see how it reacted, I spooled it up and it viberated a little worse, So I pulled the tape off, and added a piece to the other side, It got a little better, after adding a few more pieces of tape it was pretty smooth. Just a thought you can try what could it hurt.

Hello All ,

I too am a 22E guy I've had mine since before X-mas and have about 4 or 5 batteries thru her now.

I've crashed a few time and have been able to put her back together everytime except the last one.

I've completely wore out my first main motor and am anxiously waiting me order to come I ordered 2..hehe

Sorry it tookj me so long to post here but it took me 2 weeks once I found this site to read through all your post..

Great stuff guys I love hearing about all your "accidents" it makes me feel a bit more human..

anyways this is my first heli aswell and I am being very cautious as my pockets are not too deep..

I am currently saving my money thoug as I want to by a blade CP atleast that way I can have 2 heli's

incase one is broke I can still fly the other..

I have too say some of your repairs have been nothing short of genious and I look forward to more .

I'm a bit disheartened by all the bad talk about the electric components on these heli's I haven't had any problems yet(knock on wood) but expect that before its over I'll be on the same page as Busa with the all new electric components..

anyways once I get my parts in and my heli back together I'll post some pics.

Bearcat Out!

I haven't had too many electronic failures as well, but my motor dead go out. I think that's a bit premature.

Has anyone tried one of these? http://www.rc-expert.com/images/accessories/a-upgrade/m-o-alu-esky-rotorhead.jpg
Seems like it would fit the 22E. I'd like to know if provides for a less stable flight, less damage in crashes (only blades die)?

I agree, it is very nice, but 180.00 is a serious inversment. It's pretty though... Dennis

I like the super head a lot, and have only messed up blades when I crash, so I love that. Most the time I pick it back up brush off the grass, and fly again. There is always a chance you could twist the head or break somthing if you crash hard enough though. I dont think that head will fit, It looks like a blade CP head. And that is a completely different head set up. The hornet looked just like mine, and I still had to do some mods. But I know it works. Dennis is right $180 is a lot, I dont think that would be the best step for the money, I have delt with the 22E, and all its problems, Chances are you will drop the cash for the head, than have electrical issues with the rx, or servos, or tx. Than you will be stuck with a nice looking head on a bird that wont fly, You will then decide to upgrade electronics, and because the tx only works with the dragonfly rx, you will have to order a package tx/rx, and be like me another $200 deeper into it. You will also need a gyro, and Esc. I think the best bet if you have the money you want to put into the bird would be to stock up on a little extra parts. Mabee modify the tail motor to direct drive. (This takes a little engineering.) Upgrade your servos, Or buy better batteries and charger. Just some thoughts. In my opinion I would learn on the 22E, when It craps out buy a VNR3d or Blade CP, They seem to be built better. The only thing I have left on my heli that is dragonfly is the main body, and the mounting plate. By the way this is my 2nd 22E also.

Welcome back ace. Glad you are OK, how's the wife?? I have my TRex all specked out. Just have to finish the bedroom furniture before the wife will release the $$. Here goes:

TREX 450 SE CCPM (superior edition all Alum & Carbon fiber)
Spektrum DX6
Futaba 401 gyro
Futaba s9650 tail digital servo
Hitec HS56 servos
Align 430 brushless motor
Align 35a ESC

Just think ace, in December we went to a beginers heli class and now I am getting a Sexy Rexy like this.
I'll let you fly it since you will be the one setting up the TX.
What do you think??

Hi,
I bought a 22E last week and crashed it already... I thought I was able to trim it without a training gear.
You guys have a lot of experience on fixing 22E's!
Here is my question. On the left side in the picture you can see the broken part but I can not find any replacement part for it.
The only thing I can find is the part on the right which was included as spare parts in my helicopter kit. But I miss two ball links on this.
What parts do I need to order to fix this?

Thanks,
Ruben

rc-rambo,
your spare part won't work (why they put it in there, I don't know).. you need part # HM-22E-Z-38.. if you go to www.rcandme.com you will see it there.. its under the 22e spare parts and its on page 5 last item.. it is the upgraded version..thats what ya need..also you may be able to salvage this. I can't see the detail in your pics but you may be able to drill a small hole where the ball broke off..A #58 (.042)drill bit will do. and replace with a 1/16 metal ball with a theaded end. Check you local hobby shop..they should have them..

If I were to upgrade to the newer version of that head, what parts would I need to get? Is the flybar paddle the same?

I haven't seen the old version of the head so I would hate to steer you in the wrong direction.. I have seen this part sold as an upgrade so I can only assume that you only need that part and everything will fit fine.. I would contact rcandme.com with that question..they seem very helpful.

Hi Hartar,

Thanks for the tip! I found the part on some other sites but www.rcandme.com is a lot cheaper!
Do you have good experience with rcandme?

Regards

Ruben
