hey Rob and the guys
Rob You got it very right. That is fact fact fact. It is really difficult in the wind with the light bird. With cutting the throttle, the only remedy is idle up to keep rotor speed. This means reduced flight time per battery .
Thanks for the encouragement. At least I'm over broken head pieces(metal head), but bent shaft is the bummer. Vibrations.
Cheers

Philly D,

The other solution is to take off a little later. at say 60% throttle, then you still have some head speed at zero pitch.
But the tradoff is that it's a little quicker and burns more juice and a little more stable. Stable - meaning it doesn't wobble around as easyily

I'll raise the throttle trim back to the middle from 1/4 and turn PLT knob a anti clockwise

Did a bit more flying this morning after replacing both the main and tail motors.. the heli was much more responsive to say the least.. was doing alot of forward and backs, left and right flying just kind of fooling around.. Felt like flying a bit higher than normal and was flying around 20 feet or so up in the air.. was also trying a few more nose in and tail ins.. they are getting better, but not too bad.. felt totally in control again and never came close to crashing.. I think I will be taking off the training gear in the very near future. I can now feel how its slowing down the response of the Heli.. I've been thinking of doing it for a while anyway..I have to fix a ball or something on the tail so it doesn't dig in and then I will do it..

Oh... I can fly backwards just fine... I'm not doing any circles and
figure 8's backwards yet... off to the sim for that training !

Finally had some adult beverages and mounted the X on the bench...
Luckily... the smart's in me told me to take off the main rotor blades for obvious
safety reasons on the first spin up and I want to weight them and balance them.
So I'm spinning down and one of the screws on the blade holders comes loose
and the one blade holder comes off.
Can you imagine !!!!!!!!!!! of all screws loose a blade holder screw.
I got my X from the same guys you got yours... RTF.. but I know about
RTF from all my reading and my two 22e clones I have.
Well any way... time for a thorough check all around.

Good job flying Cenracer... it only get's better
Try my idea of putting the pongs on one stut.. front and back.. but sideways apposed
to my front and back config. It like baby steps to no pongs at all. I think you will like it.

Remember guys... you can rip apart the blades that came with the heli... and you will find
two carbon fiber rods you can reuse elsewhere on the heli... struts for training.. the boom
struts... and the tail rod.. you may have to sand them down but they will work.

I keep throttle trim in the middle and I was talking about adjusting the knob - (I think its plt, I never remeber the name, but I mean the one that sets lift off)

I just hovered the X a couple of times in the backyard....
WHAT A BEAST compared to the 22e and clones... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to take it to the big field.
(I know this isn't the place for Rex's but hey what the heck!!!)
A little windy so I didn't want to take any chances.

Rob,
they take the wind pretty well.

I like to warm up with the 22e and then fly the trex clone. sure don't want to crash the copter X or waste a battery warming up on it.. But on windy days I can only fly the trex. It takes me a pack to get comfortable/warm up. then Im good to go.
