Thx heliaction.....head speed should not be an issue....I tamed it way down max pitch in mode one is 8 degrees ......its weird setup has not changed at all but all of the sudden the tail pulses.......I have flown it this way and the motor is fresh....just tracked blades because I broke one. Well I will play with gain and such later....maybe its just a glitch from a fairly low battery.

Found a dx6 with servos and reciever in memphis for $182.00 us at hobbytown made me sick not to buy it...I should have darn it. Back to house cleaning...i will report back if I cant clear up the tail issue.

hfenn its a brand new tail motor, one flight on it, but you got a point.

Tommy.. had the same issue with both my 22E's recently.. noticed it was pulsing on blade tracking in the shop.. turned down the gain a little bit and adjusted the pitch to lower the head speed...It a combination of too much gain on the gyro..(mostly) and too high a head speed...

Heliaction, yep I had a look at the whip antenna...looks like it's quite "revolutionary" indeed seeing all the problems that I had. However, right now I have the antenna mounted in such a fashion that it bi-passes anything that could put out noise so I might have to leave it for now. Tell you what I wouldnt mind that DX6i radio that you mentioned in the Belt CP forum.

By the way Heliaction, do you recommend that site with the whip antenna on the previous page? There are a lot of sites out there and unfortunately I have only trusted Ebay with it's Paypal pay system so far - and even then there are only 2 stores on there that I have ever bought stuff from

Cenracer I flew this morning as the wind was light....tail pulsed the whole way thru and occasionally just quit altogether....had to land spinning!! Glad I still had trainer gear on!! Tried a few gain adjustments (1/8th turn or so) no difference. As soon as my batts charge up I will try again and see if I can adjust it out. Still practicing my hover ...I can hold a 3 ft box for an average of about 30 secs ...thats really good for me with very light gusts. But all in all its getting much easier ...I would be comfortable practicing in my driveway (hovers) at this point. I got that brushless sitting there waiting on the new bird.....

Anyone got a line on some of that carbon fiber tube to use as a tail boom on the 22? .310 diameter I think.

Well, I finally got the 2nd 22E setup with my friends help.. Its easier with two people helping and it flew great.. The guy I got it from had a few linkages backwards and the tracking was way off. .I can't refer to mine anymore as the head is different.. My son wanted to learn to fly so I decided to let him learn on the new one.. figured he would just slide across the ground and maybe get an inch of air and be happy.. He slid it around a minute or so then gave it more throttle and it lifted off.. he hung in the air for a few seconds then put it down... Once he got that out of the way, he did a few more hovers each lasting a bit longer.. by the time the battery was almost finished, he did his last hover for about 20 seconds or so.. what blew me away was the fact that he was in complete control.. He said about 80% in control.. he hovered in one spot about 2 feet off the ground and moved forward and back on command, as well as side to side.. then he landed right where he took off from.. Once that was over, his only comment was I thought that would be harder to do.. (what a wise ass)... He did spend some time on the sim, but not enough to learn this.. I guess these kids just pick this stuff up quicker.. he's almost 14... and has been into r/c for many years..

tommis, places that i have used and can vouch for are: Readyheli (A+++), techmodelmp, helidirect, rcandme, ehirobo, and im sure there is one more but i can think just now. I only use readyheli now, they seem to be the best for me but all are good. Ehirobo has belt stuff and they have good prices and shipping rates. I found ebay good for individual items and internet shops for group items.
