Denjoy:Be more specific about what you are setting up. There are many of us that can help.

Dennis, Well I got my new reciever today, and guess what.... Chanel one for one of the three servos does not work!!! I am getting about tired of these cheap electronics from walkera. I wonder who makes the reciever for the Vnr3d, If its the same or made better. Any way now I dont know witch way to go, I already have been down with no fly time for quite a while, and now it will be longer. Any suggestions?

Ace;
I am trying to balance blades,check swash plate level,balance heli,check pitch of blades for starters.
I have a Walkera 22E 6 channel TX
Body length =580mm
Total width=185mm
Total height=180mm
Main rotor diameter=550mm
Tail rotor diameter=150mm
Weight counting battery=374g
Motor=370sd
Battery=10.8v 650 mah Ni-MH

All stock at this time.I plan to upgrade batery and motors later. In the Meantime I would just like get a little hover time but I need to set everything up first.

PS.THANKS for the reply

Make sure there isn't a switch in the wrong position, or a knob turned the wrong way first.
Im not setting up anything, im just waitin for parts.

Ace, check this link for a model for FMS. It's a blade CP but it is probably the most realistic for our small birds. I set the wind at 1 and the gust at 3. I still cant go tail out.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3747357/tm.htm

Also, the new tail blades I got fly off also even with CA applied. I drilled and tapped the original holder with #2 56 threads. 5 flights and it hasn't flown off.
I got a new tail motor and broke it in by running it under water with a D cell battery for 2 hours. It is working better than the other 2 I have gone through.

Like my name?
Mike

Ok, to balance blades, you would loosen the main blade hub Allen screw, and remove the oval links that connect the flybar cage to the swash plate. This will allow you to remove the head, and than use a blade balancer, or like a hanger or whatever to hook in the middle and balance using a piece of scotch tape on the lighter blade. I haven't had much trouble with blade balance with new blades, anyway reinstall the head. After that you can move on to the swash plate, with all trims on the controller set to the center, make sure swash plate is parallel to the ground if not use ball links to adjust till it is level. To balance heli hold it by the flybar with one finger on each side, it should balance pretty straight, if not move the battery to adjust the weight, 22E seems to be back heavy Even with the battery all the way forward. Read the previous pages and you will get some Ideas on balancing, Checking pitch is called blade tracking it also is previous on this forum, check it out and let me know if you have any trouble.

tigermike82 -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 4:01:31 AM)

Ace:
Try looking at the posters name!! Only a stupid tigerstop salesman would run an electric motor under water. It's all over run ryder about this trick so I tried it. It is the smoothest running tail motor I have ever had.

Well, if that's the case, im going to soak my receiver for a while...

Guys:
Check this link for the water trick!!

Wow, I guess the sales man tried something I would have never would have thought would work. I gotta try that one.

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 4:51:05 AM)

Well I talk at you tomorrow mike, Thanks for the tip.

buacc -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 4:16:52 PM)

Anyone try this cable?

http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=82_101&products_id=2665

I don't know how to use it. The CD is FMS and my computer seems can't detect the transmitter. Anyone can help? Thanks alot.

sfinckster -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 4:22:19 PM)

Do you have the serial PIC interface selected in the controller section of FMS? If so, you should then be able to go to the mapping/calibration button and set up the TX channels to correspond with the correct function.

buacc -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 4:31:12 PM)

Thank you.

Yes, It is serial PIC interface in FMS.
Did you use the same cable? Where i can get more information?
I have asked eHIROBO but they are not able to provide any support for me.
Only send me the link of FMS website.
I have followed all instruction on the website, but it's can't detect the transmitter action.

Thank you again if you can give me any website or simple instruction for this cable.

sfinckster -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 4:37:12 PM)

I bought mine from milehighwings.com but it should be basically the same cable I would think. Here is a link to the FMS forum. You might be able to get more help there.

Thanks sfinckster.

I will study it. Thank you very much ^_^

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 5:32:54 PM)

Hey Tigermike, are you back?

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 5:54:14 PM)

Guess not

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 6:09:04 PM)

Im starting to think mabee the problem with my tail being too aggressive is caused by the voltage that the Gws motor is raited for is lower than the walkera motor, causing it to be too aggressive.

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 6:38:32 PM)

Is the FMS Simulator free ?

Ah Clem -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 6:44:35 PM)

Dennis,

FMS is free. I am not sure how it will work with a Transmitter set up for CCPM.

The RC Groups thread is growing! http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=455241

TigerMike,

Welcome!

Ace,

The Venom RX (4-in-1) appears to be the same but, so far, no one is complaining about the Walkera type radio issues with it. Did you open the Tx to see if all of the plugs for the potentiometers are seated? Someone else just mentioned this on another thread-he got rid of all of his Walkera radio glitches.

I am installing a Spectrum radio in my Shogun and TREX. These are supposed to be "Glitch Free" (either they don't glitch, or your don't have to pay extra for the glitches...). Anyway, I will let you know how this goes. The problem here is that the radio, selling for about $200.00 American, costs more than the helicopter.

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 6:47:34 PM)

Thanks Clem !!!

sfinckster -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 6:53:58 PM)

I use the Walkera radio with FMS and it works fine. I would suggest getting the interface cable from milehighwings. They seem to know alot about the proprietary Walkera pulse modulation mixing stuff. The reason Walkera TX won't work with any other RX and vice versa. The same cable I got also works with my Blade CP TX. They will also send you a disk with FMS and Pre-Flight, along with about 500 plane and Heli models for FMS.

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 8:02:27 PM)

Clem: I have two radios for my walkera, I will try the other one tonight and let you know how it goes.

hartar -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/23/2006 8:32:06 PM)

I got a 22E about a month ago and it is doing something strange. It was running fine then suddenly the collective servo would begin fluctuating up and down erractically when I applied throttle. It was as if it were receiving erroneous input. When I disconnected the motor and applied throttle it worked fine. I am wondering if the motor is giving feedback signal to the RX. With the TX and RX turned on I rotate the rotor manually and the collective server begins fluctuating up and down... would the components soldered to the motor connections have anything to do with it? I would think the capacitors and diode soldered on there would shunt motor noise to ground.. Any thoughts?
