acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 8:04:08 PM)

Thanks for the info, ESC Just for brushless? I thought that it was only a reciever to run the servos, Do I need a esc for the dc tail motor, or just a gyro?

RCandME -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 8:07:51 PM)

Just need the Gyro..

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 8:08:57 PM)

So if I didn't have a brushless main, I could run the main motor straight out of the reciever than.

RCandME -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 8:33:07 PM)

Looks like you will have to use ESC for any motor..
receiver just has the motor cotrol on it, does not distribute power to motor.

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 8:36:49 PM)

Ok, Thanks, Thats what I was thinking but did not know for sure.

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 9:00:38 PM)

Is there a usb cable that will go to the VNR3D transmitter for simulator use ??? Dennis
I need to get on a simulator bigtime. !!!

Ah Clem -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 9:06:32 PM)

Ace,

Just to clarify, you will need two ESC's: one for the main motor and one for the tail motor. There are two ESC's built into your Walkera 4-in-1. By the way, brushless ESC's will not work with brushed motors and vise versa, so you need to decide if you are going to be running brushless or not.

Here is a website with info on how to run separates. Again, I have not done this, so I cannot vouch for the websites accuracy:

http://www.helihobby.com/html/separate_electronics.html

RCandME -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 9:17:04 PM)

Correct about the two ESC for both main and tail motor..

for the Sim cable, we have not put together the USB port one, we only have the Parallel one that works with FMS and Realflight 2..

at our store if you want the parallel one?

sfinckster -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 10:08:40 PM)

Dennis, get this one http://milehighwings.com/usb_cables.htm the first one is for the 22e, and I have used it with my Blade CP TX and it works great also. You can program the interface with your calibration settings and it will remember them if you plug it in to another computer.

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 10:28:04 PM)

Thanks Mr S, I'll go check it out !!!

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 10:34:41 PM)

It doesn't say anything about the VNR3D. Which one do I want ? The darn transmitter has no idenity on it at all, other than the Venom name, but no model number or anything...???

sfinckster -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 10:50:27 PM)

If you email them, they will get back to you quickly usually. I have been impressed with their cust support. Or if you see Bluesky123 on here you could ask him. I think he works for the company.

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/25/2006 11:18:51 PM)

I should give Paul a call tomorrow and ask about that...

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 12:22:46 AM)

Driving home with my new spektrum dx6 riding shotgun![:D] Hope it works!

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 12:27:54 AM)

Right on Ace !!!

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 1:07:15 AM)

This hobby is definitely a sickness!

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 1:11:50 AM)

I just crashed again... Blade Grips and see saw at least... im done.

Ah Clem -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 2:07:39 AM)

Dennis,

I hope that you don't mean your giving up when you say you're done.

When the parts come out, buy a few spares in advance. At least it is a lot cheaper than when I learned 30 years ago (I am way too old...). I learned on an American Revolution and had a nice assortment of half blade sets, bent shafts, worn out belts, etc.

Hang in there!

Ace,

Congratulations on the Spectrum! That should end any radio issues forever!

tigermike82 -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 3:45:35 AM)

Just a note:
ACE will be out of the game for a couple of weeks while he tries to figure out that kick a.. radio.

Good luck Ace, we will all be thinking of you!!

freeonthree -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 4:03:00 AM)

Good luck Ace Busa !!!
No, im not giving up... Im goin to Redding tomorrow and buy a bunch of spare parts so I can learn how to fly. It's turning into a serious goal for me. I don't like being defeated by a little plastic machine, and im goin after it like a bulldog on a pork chop !!! It will not win !!!

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 3:06:45 PM)

Thanks Guys! I hope T-Mike isnt right! Im thinking more like a few days.[8D] I Have to find somewhere to put all this stuff! I dont know if my heli is still classified as a dragonfly or not, Im thinking more of a custom. (New reciever, servos, ESC, and brushless main, Esc/gyro for tail, Direct drive tail, Aluminum superhead, spektrum dx6 tx.) Hope to be flying soon!!!

Ah Clem -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 5:17:21 PM)

Ace,

I have installed the Rx in the Shogun with velcro. Make sure that the antennae are at 90 degress to each other.

The gyro should be as close to the main mast as possible.

The CCPM mixing is going to be the challenge. I have been installing this radio in my TREX CDE (CCPM) and it was tough to get everything working properly.

There are three "virtual" channels for pitch, roll, and elevator. I am going to try to locate a thread from another forum and post it. It helped me greatly-although I am not finished yet.

Ah Clem -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 5:48:13 PM)

Ace,

Try here:

You might search that forum for more Spektrum information.

acebusa -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 6:49:39 PM)

Thanks, Any help will do, I cant wait to get it all up and going.

hartar -> RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk (1/26/2006 6:59:19 PM)

I've had problems with 2 of my servos on my 22E.. I thought one of them was dead and I opened it up and it was the red wires on the little circuit board inside was shorting to one of the components.. I just used a tooth pick to carefully bend the wires straight so they don't come close to any of the components.. I've fixed two servos this way...[:)].. anyways getting to the point of hovering a little bit (in my living room).. running about a 12" off the ground..... I have a 22D due to be here tomorrow.. I hoping the fixed pitch is a little more stable and little less complicated.. I'm sure it will have its own challenges..this hobby is addicting!
