hi micro potato,,
thanx for clearing that up for me, i saw the ol;d no 5 and saw the no 10 and came to the conclusion that mine looked closer to the 10 then the 5 version but now ive seen your photo on the left (the box is the same as mine) and now im sure i have the new version no 5...
ive emailed ehirobo and luckily as the Chinese new year is being celebrated it wont be processed till tomorrow earliest !
ps,,,have you ever had trouble with the rx,mixer unit with wakera no 5 helis ?[;)]

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/1/2006 1:16:10 AM)

hi jez33,
your message still makes me sweat about the 'actual" model no. you've got!
DON'T just go by the box!! since different distributers have different boxes for the products!!!

**1. Can you post a picture of your heli for me to take a look? OR
2. look into the spare parts page, tell me the item# (eg. hm005 or hm010...)
3. measure the spreaded main blade diameter, should be 13.5 inches for the no.5,
and 18 inches for the no.10 AND as what I've pointed out, the no. 10 one has a dummy
turbo exhaust thing on the back!!

**I posted 2 boxes here, the deep blue one is for NO. 10 & the green one (Last pict)
is for NO.5

PLEASE CHECK IT OUT BEFORE THE SHIPPING GETS STARTED!!!!!

good lucy.

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/1/2006 10:44:54 PM)

It's usual and also unusual since a new battery shouldn't die
that fast but it happens frequently from a low-end manufacture.

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/3/2006 5:41:32 AM)

Hi Guys:
here you go, shockproof boots for you tiny heli from
the crashes!!

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/3/2006 5:45:35 AM)

see these![:-]

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/10/2006 7:18:53 PM)

hi there,

I would like to say sorry for introducing a hobby shop - ehirobo.com to you guys,
since I've found a major communication problem with those guys!!

1. they don't speak English at all (they're in Singapore), all email are misunderstanding,
eg. I ordered 6 parts 3 weeks aga, but 2 items were on back-order, then they shipped out whatever in stock first.
A week later, I ordered some more parts again as a 2nd separated order, we both agreed that they would ship out my 2nd order together with the 2 back ordered items of the first order in the 2nd shippment once everything were available..
But a email from them today saying that "You should combine the order if you want us to ship all parts together!!
WHAT A HECK!!

2. snail shipping to the wrong place, I live in Toronto, Canada, they sent to Vancouver, Canada,
still don't know where the parcel is now!!

hi micropotato
ive found myself that their english is a little basic i supose as they have asked me to simplify my questions.but theyve often been helpful in the reply given back..i still havnt ordered from them just yet so havent experience their post/shipping system yet ! i did a bit of searching on usa ebay tho and i think i can get the parts im after for my no5 v3 lama..
would you bolieve it tho i have another more basic lama no 5, 27mhz (think its from walkera,if not its a chinees copy) and i put the battery on the wrong way again with a battery that has a dodgy conector. as with my walkera no 5, v3 its blown up the ecu board. troble is i dont think i can get the board for a 27mhz machin...[:(]

hi walera 10 team..

I have been flying walker 10 for about 3 months.. no major mishaps.. yet.. but my battery which is stock 2 cell lipo seems to be dying in 5 mins or so.. or max 7 mins.. i was wondering has anyone tried 3 cell lipo 11.1 volt because I know those motors 370 series are a hog when it comes to sucking up the juice.. has anyone seen any posting regarding 3 cell for #10 any feed back would be helpful..

thanks guys..

squadri.

mflauer -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/12/2006 12:52:09 AM)

Mine did the same thing after about 2 months and replaced it with an original which seems to be working fine. I too would like to know how large I could go and where is a goo d price.

Hey! I've gone through 3 shafts since I first bought my Dragonfly. My wife was getting pissed at me, so I went on ebay last night and found an outer shaft for only $10.99! Im a little skeptical because this person also sells clothes and ebooks, but the price is right! So I bought one. When it comes I'll post again and let you guys know if its worth a crap.

Heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6036465288&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Do not delve in the affairs of Dragons for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

squadri1126 -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/13/2006 8:56:22 PM)

pompedo,

I went to their link.. the part seems to be fine.. and it should work fine.. but the weirdest thing with that seller. is that this is the only part they sell.. man.. you are good in finding parts for #10.

let us know how goes it.

squadri.

gumundermyshoe -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/13/2006 11:43:12 PM)

Pompedo,

I bought my shaft from that same link on ebay when they had it up for $11.50 last week. I was also skeptical when I saw it. He was selling blades as well at the time though. I got them in like 3 days. I know I might be seeing things but, that shaft they sent seems to make my #10 fly smoother and more stable. I was planning on buying 1 or 2 more just to keep in stock. At $10.99 I dont see a reason not to.[:D]

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/15/2006 9:15:25 PM)

can somebody answer my question,
I bought a receiver PC board for my walkera#10,
it's a 72M one & marked with # 72.79M on a crystal inserted into that board,
but my exsiting crystals come with the heli (bought from other shop)
is 72.87M, so I don't know if the board will work with my existing 72.87M crystals
or even I replace the 72.79M crystal (on the board) with my 72.87M one to match another
72.87M crystal inserted to my transmitter???

squadri1126 -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/16/2006 5:43:44 PM)

just replace the receiver and tx with the matching crystal that came originally with your heli and it should work fine. Frequecy on the tx and rx should match.

that should work.. enjoy..

pompedo -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/17/2006 4:44:56 AM)

I just recieved my new carbon fiber shaft that I bought from ebay for $10 bucks.
I bought two shafts just in case. The dude from ticketsflorida even included a sheet on tuning techniques which I was not expecting.
The tips in that sheet are not covered in the manual and are a must have. My Heli hovers rock solid. I am having so much fun with my new tuned heli I havent bothered with my Blade CX.
I highlyrecommend this ebay seller, thanks gumundermyshoe for pointing it out. Now I can try fly between the trees and not worry about expensive shafts. [:D]

squadri1126 -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/17/2006 2:42:45 PM)

Pompedo,

Why don't you post the tips on this forum so that other Walkera 10 pilots can gain from your findings.

I think that would be good help for us if the material you are talking about are not covered in the manual.

Thanks,
Squadri1126

pompedo -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/17/2006 6:02:45 PM)

Sure Squadrill126, I also noticed that the shaft has thicker walls on the inside making the outer shaft stronger. I already have some some crashes and the shaft has had no damage[;)].
Here is the Free info that I received in the pacakage.

Thank you for your purchase. With this new and improved Carbon Fiber Outer Shaft you will have a blast flying your Horse-fly/Outback Helicopter. I am a heli enthusiast and I personally own Horse-Fly and a Venom Outback I just wanted to share with you some of my experiences and tuning techniques that have helped me enjoy my heli even more. I have noticed that crash recovery is important to get your Helicopter flight worthy again. When changing the Outer shaft, I’ve noticed that I’ve lost all the factory settings. Proper tuning is a must.

After changing the Outer Shaft, if you notice any wobble or vibration in flight here are some of the things you can check,

Make sure that the stabilizer bar is completely straight and the weights are pulled out to the edge of the bar.

Check to see that the swash plate is completely leveled and is sufficiently lubricated.

If you notice vibration when you first power up the rotors (which seems to decrease as you increase the head speed) your blades could be out of balance. Check to see if there are any chips or cracks on the blades. You can either weigh the blades on a home made balance scale or try switching blades to see if the weights on the blades match. When the blades are balanced there should be no vibration.

If you are getting a wobble during flight make sure that the blades are not too loose or too tight. I simply try to move the blades with my finger holding the leading edge of the blade to make sure it does not require excess play. The blades are too loose when they flop around and too tight when you cannot move them with slight resistance.

If you are getting a toilet bowl effect while in hover your swash plate is not at a good angle. Apply forward cyclic to see if it goes away. If this is the case, adjust the transmitter trim nesscary and see if you notice the difference.

I would not suggest moving the Gyro Pot settings, but if you have already done so, make sure that the gyro pot (on the left) settings are set to a minimum of 11 O’clock and the maximum settings to 2 O’clock.

I hope this information is beneficial to you.

Have an awesome time flying your helicopter!

squadri1126 -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/17/2006 7:19:59 PM)

Thanks Pompedo,

That was good.. info hopefully that would help other team members.

I orderd a 2 cell lipo today TP1320-2s Pro Lite from thunder power.... i just didn't wanted to order stock any more cause
my stock is dying too quickly on me.. hopefully this would do great..

thanks,
squadri1126

pompedo -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/17/2006 9:50:04 PM)

The battery upgrade sounds great, which web site did you buy from? Do you think it will fit ? What charger are you using ?

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/18/2006 12:25:55 AM)

hi there, just want to know if that shaft from "ticketflorida" guy really fit the Walkera #10 (Dragonfly) heli?
I can get one (inner & outer shaft) for USD21 with the extra accessories attached to it.
but don't know how good that one is (stock part from walkera)?

http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=82_91&products_id=3295

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/18/2006 12:28:20 AM)

the PC receiver board (comes with one crystal at 72.870M) from ehirobo.com really works with my exisitng crystals at 72.790M, I mean I replaced
the whole pair for the RX/TX connection. Moreover, I try another pair of crystals at 72.190M from another little heli (Apache) from ohter maker, also worked!! :)
Thanks! saved me a few bucks!

pompedo -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/18/2006 4:15:45 AM)

Hey micropotato, the shaft from ticketsflorida will fit your #10 becasue I have purchased one for the #10 and used it on my Horsefly. I compared the Horsefly, walkera and the ticketsflorida shaft side by side and by far the ticketsflorida one is better quality. Like I said earlier it is thicker on the inside making it stronger. Looks like he did his homework.
I have had a very bad experience with ehirobo.com that company is in singapore and usually do not have most of their parts in stock. When I ordered shaft and blades from them it took them over a month to get it to me, they said items were on backorder (B.S) did not say anything about backorder when i was checking out. I also heard some other guys on this thread with a similar experience.

micropotato -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/18/2006 7:35:08 AM)

I was that other guy, bought a pair of crystals, never got them but refund!
parts took month to ship here![:@]

is it a big project to replace a new shaft???
that ebayer sells the bare inner shaft only,
you still have to stock up some tiny things attached to it
like the limina nips, the head for the fly bar to be snapped into, etc....

BTW: here're my heli's new "Anti-Crash" boots!! [:D]

pompedo -> RE: Walkera #10 (2/18/2006 7:52:11 PM)

Wow that looks really good micropotato, are those floats ? Amphibious #10 sounds cool. I have already changed three shafts on mine. Its not hard at all to change the outer shaft you do not need any extras. I have never broken my inner shaft yet. I just reuse the parts that go on the outer shaft. If this is your first time changing the shaft I would say take your time, and after the change is complete retrim and tune your heli. I would also suggest lubricating the bearings while you have everything apart. Let me know how it goes, oh and more pictures please [:D]
