Has anybody flown a Walkera #10 ? It is the big brother to the #5 about twice the size I think. I just ordered one and was wondering what to expect.

I have the Venom Outback Rescue and it appears to be identical. If flies very well-it is extremely stable. A little noisey, but I am very happy with it.

If flew correctly right out of the box!

I have just ordered a #10 it is being shipped from Hong Kong.
It is coming complete with a spare fuselage of a Jet Ranger.
So when I get fed up with the Lama look I will change to a Jet Ranger.

My #10 arrived today here in the UK and it was posted from Hong Kong on friday. Not bad that.
No duty to pay no damage and everything was present and correct.
I have had three flights so far with no damage, I am getting the hang of it now. Flight times are not very long at the moment. I have flown a Hirobo Lama at the local model shop the number 10 is not as easy to fly as that, but is not to difficult. This is only the second heli I have flown in the last twenty five years so you can see its not to bad.
And for the price who can complain.

Thanks for you reply, I received mine today unfortunately it had a few problems swash plate was binding and the outer shaft not installed properly. Decided it would be best to disassembly, check and adjust everything before trying to fly. just finsihed and made a few short hovers to trim it out, seems very stable now I'll try some flying tomorow.

I need to change my name to that, as I have just broken a blade.
It was my own stupid fault, the cats in our house have a climbing frame with a round piece
about a foot in diameter. My stepson said why don't you land the heli on top of it.
It was going so well until I touched the wall down it came and snapped the blade about an inch from the tip. £18 delivered from RC-Expert a bit expensive that.

Mine is not that stable so I might have it to pieces while I wait for the new blades to arrive.
When you said you had a problem with the outer mast can you tell me what that was please.
That might be my problem the top rotors have abit of a wobble when they are turning.

I got about 2mins. of flying and one of the servos started to oscillate and won't stop (bad servo or board). Not very happy with this thing. As far as the outer mast is concerned there is a hole that the screw in the collar line up into to hold it from slipping, mine was not installed properly from the factory. If your problem is with the upper blades that runs off the inner shaft, I would check and make sure your flybar isn't bent or adjust the tracking. I found the blades on mine are all different weighs so i will be balancing them to, that will also give you a lot of vibration. Well back to striping this thing down again, good luck to you and at least you got one that flies. [8|]

Sorry to hear of your problems with the #10.
Thank you for the advice regarding the blades etc the thing flies quite well if I can stop the
vibration it should be even better.
I flew a Twister Bell 47 yesterday in my local model shop it does not fly as well as my #10
it has the same traits as the #10 when the batteries get low you momentarily lose control of the tail.

Hi there guys,
I just bought a Walkera 10 from RC-Expert. I was supposed to get a Lama2 but they were out of stock and they wouldn't tell me that for about a month, so finally I told them to send the Dragonfly 10. I Hope that wasn't a mistake. I don't mind doing a little tinkering, which I assume is par for the coarse on most of these x-rotation type copters. Those of us who have one should start a Dragonfly10 mod string with all of our experiences in set up / adjustments, mods and videos. There seem to be lots of tips on the Lama2, blade cx, outback rescue, horsefly and xrb that should be helpfull to us, but who knows if they are all that similar.

I have a few of questions for you guys:

-what are the fast forward flight capabilities of the N0.10?
-Have any of you been able to perform decent flights other than slow hovering?
-How long have your flight times been?
-What parts have you had to replace so far? (where did you get them and for how much?
-Anyone have any videos of the 10
-Anyone compaired the No 10 to any other xrb, and what were your thoughts.
-Anyone done any helpful mods?

I have not had much forward flight with mine a little in the garden but had to stop as it was to
windy. The run time is roughly about ten minutes+ I have bought a decent charger so that should improve. I broke one of the blades on mine trying to land on the cats climbing frame bad move that.
At the moment the #10 is a comparatively new heli in the UK so I am waiting for my blades to arrive from HK. I bought them from RC-Expert, with shipping roughly £18 a bit expensive that.

My #10 had some vibration but still flew well, I will balance the blades when they arrive should make it even better.
I have flown a Hirobo Lama and a Twister Bell 47 in my LHS, the #10 is not quite as good as the lama (but it might be when the vib is removed) and as good as if not better than the Twister Bell.

I think it is a love affair with these Walkera helicopters, I think they are like Woman.
We know they might sometimes be bad but we have to have one.

I am hoping to get a #36 when I can afford it.

I just bought Walkera No.10 heli from HobbyJapan2000,
sounds like the worst combination according to the reviews
from other RC heli gurus....:( but I still need some more insights
from guys who have some good / bad experiences on it! :)

BTW, Walkera's HM 010 looks exactly as same as the Megatech's Horsefly....
They all made in China, but don't know from the same manufacturer or different one...
Moreover, are they same in quality or...?????

I do not think you will be disapointed with the #10, it flies quite well and for the price.
I think it is worth every penny.
Some of the posts I have seen on this forum quite frankly beggers believe.
People with absolutely no idea regarding flying a heli are trying to fly them straight out of the box.
That would be near on impossible with an aeroplane with a micro heli it's ten times worse.

People while they are waiting for their heli to arrive could do some research to find out
exactly how helis work and try and get some sim time in.

Yes there are issues with Walkera's but quite often it is down to the operator not the heli.

Hello All,

I recently purchased a Dragonlfy 10 and have been having a lot of fun flying it. Unfortunately, I got the grand idea today of using a NiMh battery from a little electric airplane of have in the helicopter. I thought it was a 7.4v battery like the battery that comes with the helicopter, but in actuality it was an 8.4v battery. I was able to fly around for some time, but all of sudden the helicopter ceased to have enough power to fly. I landed it, and threw in my LiPo battery that came with the helicopter and was going to fly again. Unfortunately, now the helicopter will not power. The blades will rotate up to about 1/3 throttle, and then they will stop and the helicopter makes a high pitched noise. I don't know if I fried the motors or if I fried the pc board. When I do not power up the helicopter, I can move the swash plate with the right stick. Does anyone have any knowledge of which of the two problems is most likely?

I have such a bad luck, my new walker #10 heli sucks,
only 2 servos response to my transmitter, but those 2 motors
don't spin (actually only once on sudden, almost cut my face).

is it the problem of the receiver or .....? PLEASE HELP!

Dear Micro
The transmitter needs to be turned on first at low throttle with the trim fully down.
then turn on the heli the light on the heli will flash green you must wait till the electronics calibrate
the green light will stop flashing you will then have control of the heli but the motor will not run
press the button just above the green light then the motor will run. Make sure you have the throttle still at idle when you do that.

Walkera's suck, there was nothing wrong with the heli it was the user.
I think this happens quite regularly.

I'm thinking of printing some t-shirts with I love my Walkera on them[:D]
or my Walkera actually flies[:D]

yes, you are right!![:)], but the manual is very useless,
I had to DL Megatech's horsefly manual fo rmy walkera #10 heli.

Learn a lesson, double read the good manual & ask somebody (like nmacwarbirds)
having experience regarding to the product first!!!
