Hope you guys enjoying seeing them.

I like it. How did you do it? And has it affected your range at all?

Basically it's just the antenna wire wrapped around a clear plastic pipe/straw. Kind of like the plastic straw that picks up liquid from the bottom of a spray cleaner bottle. You could probably salvage one of theses plastic straws from an empty Windex/409/Fantastic spray bottle. I drilled one small hole at each end of the straw, passed the wire through from inside the open end of the straw, and wrapped/twisted the wire all the way till the other end and back into the other drilled hole. Then I covered it with clear shrink wrap, just so you guys could see the wire wrap. A couple of tie wraps hold new antenna to upper part of skids/frame. Don't know about the range, if it doesn't work at long distances, I guess that I'll have to change it back.

Very nice. Your's looks very clean. I did mine in a similar way but it does not look nearly as spiffy. I've not had any issues with range on mine.

That is basicly all a base load antenna is anyway. I'll give it a try too (when my crash parts get here )

It seems pretty simple to do. I am new at this, and have had a Blade CP for about two weeks now. I can hover it pretty well in the garage, but my 4 in 1 burned out, so I am waiting on a new one. I am not real familiar with the shrink wrap. Is that something I can just pick up at a LHS? My LHS is like 30 miles away. Or, is there somewhere to order it online? Thanks for the great pics and suggestions!

Heat shrink tubing comes in various diameters and is usually black in color. But other colors can be found. Typically purchased at any electronics parts (components-resistors, capacitors, transistors) store.
