Hey use some 3-1 oil or bearing oil on your main motor and tail just put a drop or two in front of the brass bushing and the back and work it in by spooling the motor up just one click and the tail just one drop on the fron of the shaft by the case and work it in. U will notice a big diference and lube your bearing on your tail 2 by diping them in oil for like 20min and i used grease for the main shaft bearings i havent had a problem with my main motor in a while now since that squealing last time and it was a dry bushing i havent replaced it yet!! nock on wood

Nitro,

I have read about people running their motors under water to break them in. Doesn't that short them out?

It sounds like your dunking your motors in oil.

My real question is, does that mean I can get oil anywhere on the wires and inside the motor and anywhere and it won't hurt the motors? Does that go for the brushless motors also?

Thanks
JD

Dennis,

The tail motor only has the shaft next to the gear right,

And the main - do you squirt oil in through the holes on the sides?

Put a 1/4 drop of oil at the shaft at each end of the main motor, and turn the main gear to let the oil get into the bushings. Also hold the heli sideways, and let a tiny bit of oil run down the shaft and into the bushing of the tail motor (below the gear). The rear bushing of the tail motor is sealed, so you can lube that end. Be careful not to use too much oil, you don't want it to get on the brushes or anywhere but in the bushing on the end.

No prob JD. Oil is a good thing. I forgot to mention, occasionally put a drop of light oil under the top mainshaft collar and let it run down into the bearing housing, I also put a drop of oil in the center bushing of the swashplate too... I may not be a good pilot yet, but at least I crash a well lubricated heli. hahahahaha I'll be flying the VNR3D for a couple of weeks while I wait for the new 4 in 1 to get here, so when the BCP gets back up, im sure it will put me to sleep. Don't forget to let your friends know about our group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/venomnightranger3dgroup/

Dennis,

I think the battery I have has too high a C burst. I think it is 20C.

I ordered the brushless motor. and a 30amp esc.

Lets see if I stop burning motors.

But my new one is all lubed up so Im ready. I think all my heli's are running.

Well I have two I havent fired up yet (a brushed showgun I built Sunday, and my logo 10). My Brushless showgun has a new motor in it but not run yet. The walkera 22E is chargeing, my NR3D is ready, my helimax is ready and my sabre is charging. And its raining.
I Still need to build my new TREX. I need to try out my heli camera and I have two new helicopters (a brushed and non brushed #60 walkera's) showing up by next Monday or sooner.

I'll be flying a little more tonight in the living room. But I am ready.

Dennis,

All you can do is keep figiting until you find what works.

But I believe to some extent that there are electronics and motor that just last longer. The luck of the draw. But of course the oil and loosening of the parts should help even a bad motor.

I oiled every ball bearing adn moving part while I had the oil can in my hand. What the heck

See ya,

JD
