I don't have any photos of the completed motor-box with the engine mounted, but I can take some if there's something specific you need to see. I don't think it matters much.....but I'm building the 35% version, not the 40%. Thanks for the heads-up on the cowl....i don't like the look of the louvers, but I will make sure I have plenty of exit-area on mine. I don't remember from the pics I've seen if Mike is running a spinner on his yak or not. I would think a big spinner would help reduce some of the intake area on the front of the cowl....that should also help lower air pressure inside the cowl. quote:
ORIGINAL: pcastine Yeah, I've been a bit lazy lately. I switched jobs and haven't been spending too much time in the shop. But, I just got back from the JR Challenge and was psyched to see Mike Elder's Yak fly there. So, now that the Challenge is finished and I'm getting used to the new job, I'll be heading back into the shop to finish up mine. One thing Mike told me is to definitely put functional louvers in the cowl. He had his cowl blow apart during practice due to air pressure building up inside the cowl. Hey jmiricle, do you have any pictures of your completed motor box and engine mounted on it? Pete
