I'm setting up my Jug's control throws, and due to some scale mods to the hinge lines, actuation etc some of my control deflections are a bit limited.

I am mainly concerned with rudder and elevator - I can get them to the deflections reccommented by TF but not much more. Ditto ailerons. Anyone who's flown these have any comments? Will I ever need more?

One worry was that lack of extra up elevator may make taxiing nose-overs an issue? (I fly off grass). Any info' appreciated.

Oh, also, is it worth increasing prop diameter to allow for the fat cowl? My ST75 suggests about 12x6 - I thought 13x6 might be better?

I set mine to the recommended throws and haven't had any problems flying. I can get it to do nice rolls and loops. The loops are BIG, but I am using the stock motor right now. I did have to bend my gear forward to stop the nose overs. Just bend them until they are even with the front of the wing and you will be fine. I am using the stock prop, which I think is a 11 x 4.7...works great.

Thanks Muleman. Yeah, the noseovers are a concern - I've modified the gear as far fwd as my retracts will allow, so time will tell if it's enough.

Flew mine again yesterday and did some nice rolls and a couple loops. You need to get some dive speed for the rolls, but it performed them nicely. I did have a short landing in the tall grass when my battery ran out and tore the gear off, but a little hot glue and all is fine again. Thinking about upgrading the motor soon. Need to find one that lines up with the thrush angle on the plane though.

Good luck!

Hey Cam

My little Jug flies well with the stock control throws however nose overs can be a problem, I shimmed my retracts so the axels are in front of the leading edge when looking down on the model (stand over it). With full flap it lands at a doddle despite weighing 13lbs (3 lbs over weight due to glass and lots of servos for bomb drops etc)
Love it so much I'm no building the GS
Cheers
Alan
